Eco-farm in Tarragona

What a valuable experience! I learned about the basics of maintaining and contributing to a eco-farm. New skills learned about cementing and wood work. The place reflects simple life and really offers an off-grid experience in the middle of nature. Perfect if you want to retreat and disconnect but bring bug spray :P. Edo is an honest and friendly guy. Clear communication in the best intrest of the volunteer. There is a lot of space for you to learn. Around the work there is enough space to connect with other volunteers and the surrounding nature. I recommend to pay a visit here :)

Every time I pass by that mountain of rocks you moved and stacked by the masia, Im still amazed. You can not only climb mountains....you can also move them. :))

My time at the finca was an absolute blast! The other volunteers were great and we instantly connected. Edo always had interesting conversations, fun anecdotes, and a joke ready to keep morale up. The work was based on our interests, and since there was plenty to choose from, Edo let us do what we preferred. The workload was light, and I learned a lot about gardening and construction while enjoying a beautiful experience away from the chaos of the city. Highly recommend if you're looking to enjoy the peace of nature for a while!

I really enjoyed my stay at the farm. The nature around the farm is amazing. If you want to reconnect with nature this is the right opportunity. You have always something to talk about with Edo and have fun. The work changes during the stay so you will learn many things. I really recommend this to you!

I really enjoyed my time in la finca de Edo. It is a beautiful little paradise to disconnect from the cities. It is also a good opportunity to connect with nature since it is a real immersion in it, and to learn many things about the work of the earth. In more than a week, I learned a lot about gardening but also wood work and a more sustainable lifestyle.

All in all it was really good. You can definitely say that edo has his heart on the right spot. He always got a good story in his pocket and knows a lot of interesting stuff. The work can be exhausting at times, but if you just do your best, it's absolut enough. If there is a problem with something, for example at work , you simply find a solution together. There are a lot of things to do, so there is the perfect task, which fits you the most. One last thing you are really in nature with a beautiful landscape. Good place to calm down.

I had a good experience here. I came to do some physical work while having time for reading and reflection, and this place gave me that. I usually worked the agreed hours, which suited me well. The host has a good sense of humor and theres a sweet dog with a funny obsession for licking knees. Its fair to say this place is not for everyone: food is provided only once or twice a week, political discussions can be provocative, the host sometimes speaks critically about past volunteers and garden work is more about "feeling" than structure. Overall, rewarding if you come with the right mindset

"political discussions can be provocative," Like your strong opinion that parents can only have children if approved/certified by the government? :))

Food is only provided once/twice a week? Complete nonsense. There is 150 kilo of food on my farm, oil barrels full of food, rice , beans, everything. Refrigerator full of vegetables/yogurt. Belgian waffles I made for you.

The host sometimes speaks critically about past volunteers > To explain mistakes+why we do things in certain way.

My experience at the project was mixed. The place is beautiful and perfect for anyone seeking peace in nature. Tasks were manageable but repetitive, mainly watering plants. Edo speaks some Spanish but communicated only in English, which was disappointing. The volunteer group was very small, so social interaction was limited. Edo is open but sometimes harsh during work. Volunteers are responsible for their own food, but the nearest supermarket is several hours away on foot, so it is essential to shop before arriving at the finca. Good for quiet stays, less so for social or varied experiences.

It wasn’t clear you expected Spanish communication, as we spoke in English, even before you came to the farm. and you didn’t use Spanish with me or asked me to. I bought you long pants at my own expense. I also covered your food costs and you did not pay for the transportation to -and from the train station, meaning your stay was entirely cost-free. you happen to forget to pay 20E for your food and transport. Short stays limit the opportunity to teach complex skills, so tasks remained simple.

What really happened:

During his time as a volunteer at our farm, Maximiliano (age 40) contributed to various tasks. Unfortunately, we noticed that his interactions with another volunteer (age 20) were repeatedly perceived as uncomfortable, despite being addressed. To ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone, we decided to end the collaboration. We wish Maximiliano success in future endeavors.
