Mi experiencia haciendo voluntariado en el hostel Macarena fue increible! Desde el primer momento me sentí bienvenida y como en casa. Tommy es muy generoso y siempre tiene una energía muy linda. Las tareas son muy sencillas y tenes mucho tiempo libre para conocer la ciudad que es hermosa y conocer gente! Obrigada por tanto, Tommy.

I loved my month in Lagos! Tommy is such an amazing host and the macarena feels like a home away from home!!! You have more than enough time to explore Lagos and immerse yourself in nature.

Our time at the Macarena was truly the best month of our lives. Lagos is absolutely stunning and you're never short on a good time. Tommy is by far one of the best hosts out there! super welcoming and accommodating. The hostel has super great facilities and is well kept. If you ever have the chance to volunteer here I couldn't recommend it more. You will definitely fall in love right away!

He hecho dos voluntariados y ambos han sido grandes experiencias, pero he de decir que este me ha marcado especialmente. Tommy el dueño del hostal hace que todo sea fácil, las tareas son MUY fáciles y las horas razonables, aunque ahí ponga 6 horas por día SIEMPRE son menos por lo que hay mucho tiempo libre. A menos de 10 minutos hay unas playas preciosas, todo el centro de lagos es acogedor y en un solo mes me he hecho amiga de los vecinos y la gente local. Los huéspedes son casi siempre amigables, el resto de voluntarios son cercanos y se forma un ambiente muy cálido. Volveré seguro❤️

Tommy es una persona maravillosa que siempre está dispuesto a ayudarte en todo, es flexible y siempre está atento. El trabajo es muy sencillo, unas horas al día y nada pesado. El hostel está muy bien ubicado y las instalaciones son muy cómodas. Recomendaría absolutamente este voluntariado y espero repetir en un futuro ya que es una pequeña familia!!

Mi estancia en el hostel macarena me ayudo a conectar con personas increíbles, hice amigos de diferentes partes del mundo creando momentos que siempre estarán en mi corazón, al trabajar en recepción se practica harto el inglés. Muchas gracias por todo Tommy 😋🤍

I had a great time in Lagos, Tommy was nice, I had great colleagues and the hostel is well located. You work in shifts at the reception (11–12, 15–18, or 18–21). Every day from 12–15, you clean the WHOLE hostel, but often you finish earlier. You're not just helping, you're running the place!! You sleep with four people in a tiny storage room-> no space, no lockers, no real windows. I'd definitely ask for a picture of the room! The blankets are never changed and there are only two toilets for the whole hostel. Despite all that, I still had a good time :)

Honest review:I've done two positions at hostels before this one and loved them Tommy expects you to be on the clock even when you are not on your shift. The whole hostel is run by volunteers, no staff - and he expects everything to be super professional. Duvet covers don't get replaced-so every customer sleeps in covers 3-4 weeks old Tommy might seem nice but he is very superficial and sometimes screams and threatens to have you fired and kick you out if you don't work properly Please be careful who you decide to work with. Lagos is an amazing city - you will end up meeting great ppl!

Okay, you stayed in my hostel for 4 weeks, and you were simply the worst volunteer who ever passed through my hostel. You were always late for your shift to start, you would ask to do a task, and the task was not done. I had to repeat the same thing 3 or 4 times, and there was always an excuse that something happened. Do not blame your responsibilities on the hostel owner when your work is not done. This job is to be a volunteer, and with responsibilities for sure. NO, you did not come here on v
