My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our experience. The job was very light and consisted of 3 hours a day of bed making. It's a repetitive task but the time goes by really fast. The host is very kind and the staff is helpful too. When I took the volunteering I didn't know much about the position (I think communication here on the app could improve, actually) but I'm glad I took it. I'd like to thank the host for being so kind and letting my boyfriend and I use the private onsen on our free time, that really made our experience next level! :) also shimoda is the cutest town! Def recommend it!

Mr Wu was a wonderful host. He worked hard to ensure we were comfortable and enjoyed our time working at the hotel. The hotel and shimoda were lovely too meaning we had a lovely time enjoying the facilities and area when we weren't working!

My experience at the hotel was great. It's a very nice hotel in a smaller town, really good for those looking to experience rural Japan. 100% recommend.

My time at the hotel was enjoyable! Honestly, it is easy, repetitive work. Mostly making beds and me and the other volunteer were left to do this alone. The beaches and nature nearby is beautiful. I just feel like there is very little communication and even less guidance. I could never find the owners so if I had a question I was often sitting on it for days (about washing, using the kitchen, getting a towel). Once I did find them they were very kind and made an effort. The stove was broken and made the room smell like gas so I was sad that I bought many ingredients I had to throw out.

The hotel is a really nice place. You stay in a dorm with a beautiful ocean view. You have a fridge and kitchen, but the stove gas didn't work properly, so we could only cook with the microwave. The owner and his wife are kind, though communication can be difficult due to the language barrier. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always giving us the daily tasks. Work is usually 4 hours or less, mainly cleaning rooms and making beds in high season. You'll need to ask about laundry towels bike onsen kitchen, and days off, as they don't provide that info. Internet works well for remote work

The host and his family were very nice and the job very easy (rarely did more than 2h per day, mostly changing bedsheets, simple cleaning and gardening). I was a bit dissapointed by the accomodation/workplace which is only the second picture for "atami" (in reality kamitaga). It is a bit isolated but very beautiful. I still had a great time despite being the only worldpacker on this location for most of my stay (the others appearing in the list were in shizuoka). I would recommend this position for a short stay as you quickly get to visit everything available around

The hotel is in a beautiful location with stunning ocean views. Great hikes and beaches are nearby (bus \~380 yen). Work is simple and usually done by noon. Dorms are nice, with a separate area that includes a table and microwave. Towels are available upon request, and small lockers are provided. However, communication can be improved—most staff don't speak English and there's little guidance on arrival. But everyone is really nice! And when I was sick, the owners were very helpful and understanding. Note: the hotel is far from town with no nearby stores or restaurants, so bring snacks.

It was a good opportunity to explore Shimoda and the Izu Peninsula, but was in a very secluded spot without even a combini. I'm grateful we got to use the e-bikes as I could get around to explore the beaches, and sometimes we got to get the shuttle bus into town if it was running which was a huge help. The work included cleaning, making beds and social media, but you'd only find out on the day. Luckily I can speak mandarin so was able to communicate with Mr Wu.
