General help with guest rooms & simple food prep

Hello. We both know this was a terrible experience. The worldpackers here all loved their stay.

Unfortunately, you had no awareness of how to help and of the situation.

We had three rooms to change, not five. In the first two hours that I left you, hardly anything was done. I asked you if you wanted a break. Finally, we finished, with a lot of my help and me recleaning everything that you should have done. We finished at 2 pm and you started at 10.am. That is four hours.

In addition, you said that you could speak some English and could help us speak Spanish. Therefore, as we are English and do not speak very much Spanish, it would make sense that you could communicate just a little with me.

When you decided not to give it another day (because you said you were a writer and teacher and could not do it), you then proceeded to ignore me and then after eating left plates and pans for me to wash and clear away.

None of these things are how a worldpacker should be.

I had a wonderful time during my volunteering stay. The hosts were very kind—even though They weren't there in person, we communicated really well via text messages. There wasn't too much work, just 2–4 hours a day, so there was plenty of free time. The town is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. It was an amazing experience. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to stay with you.

I loved my time at the guest house! It's in a small rural village in the Spanish mountains, making for a peaceful, slow-paced volunteering experience. The locals are lovely, and the village has all you need—plus lots of great hikes. We spent the first night with Dawn and Steve, who were so kind and welcoming. They were away the rest of our stay but kept great communication. The work was fair, and the food provided to cook with was amazing. Also so grateful for the other volunteers, Danielle & George—we had the best time!

I had a great time in the guest house. If you're looking for a more relaxed volunteer experience in rural Spain then this opportunity is perfect. The village is small but has everything you'll need. There's also daily buses to nearby pueblos (like Grazalema which is very beautiful). The facilities are great with friendly owners. Although the owners were away during my stay, they stayed in touch reminding us of our tasks every day. They also left some delicious food for us to eat haha. Of course very grateful to Danielle and Micki for making my experience here even greater:))

Dawn and Steve were lovely hosts, welcoming me immediately and making me feel at home. The hours were exactly as agreed and the entire experience was very enjoyable. For future volunteers you will be staying in a loft in a very communal living space as well as use a washroom with no lock. Not a big deal for me but just in case you are looking for a more private space. Thank you to Dawn and Steve for this amazing opportunity👏

It was my first time using worldpackers and it was an amazing experience! Dawn & Steve were really helpful with the information on how to get there and great with communication. Steve's cooking is absolutely amazing too! For work, it consisted of helping painting, cleaning rooms and walking the dogs, nothing too exhausting.

I had a great time! Dawn and Steve were really welcoming and the tasks were easy and well-explained. Many of them didn't even feel like work, just like walking the two adorable dogs in the morning, enjoying the beautiful landscape. Also, Dawn and Steve are both fantastic in cooking, so I got provided with the best food and a lot of great, yet easy recipes and ideas for cooking by myself. Being a vegetarian wasn't a problem at all and I really enjoyed having meals together. Last but not least I got lots of tipps when it comes to places I could explore or visit, which I also really appreciate!

The guest house Casados is in a beautiful mountain setting with plenty of great hikes nearby and a lovely local pool to enjoy on warm days. The work was straightforward and simple, leaving time to explore the surroundings. Food options were quite basic, mostly frozen meats and pasta, with the small town shop offering limited ingredients. I didn't meet the host in person, as instructions were given by phone, but tasks were mostly clearly explained. Overall, it was a memorable experience in a stunning location, and with a few small changes, it could be even more enjoyable for future volunteers.

We had a lovely time at the guest house. Dawn and Steve are excellent hosts. We really appreciate Steve's wonderful cooking and taking us on trips to the local towns. Villalengua is a beautiful village, with lots of sites. We will miss Raspa and Zorro 🐾 They are the sweetest! The work was simple, and was very clearly explained and we received help when needed it. Thank you Dawn and Steve for this opportunity to do something so different from our normal lives. 😊
