The hotel was my first volunteer experience through World Packers, and it was amazing! The staff is welcoming, and the area is beautiful. There's a great balance between relaxing/spending time in nature and grabbing pints/being social. Even though Killadoon is rural, it's easy to do day trips to Westport, Galway, or islands that are close. The work is relaxed, and you always share your shift with at least one other volunteer. While I was there, 4 volunteers returned for a second time. Between the staff and return volunteers, everyone is passionate about the hotel and has really positive vibes.

I volunteered at the hotel with a friend and we had such a lovely time! From the start, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we loved working there. The tasks and hours were always fair. The team was amazing, always finding a way so everyone could have the best time at the lodge. We got to surf, use the dipper and do yoga, which was grand! Also, hitchhiking was much easier than expected, no probs at all. I am so grateful for this experience and the chance to meet such lovely people. Honestly, we wanted to come straight back the minute we left.. Thank you!!

The experience at the hotel was incredible! It's a magical place on the west coast of Ireland. The work is simple and well-coordinated by the Lodge staff. Weekends are when you have to work more, but nothing out of the ordinary. It also allows you to explore nearby towns on your days off and surf for free. The sauna is also a great feature. A huge thank you to Kris, Paco, Tori, Paddy, Luk, and the rest of the team.

I spent a month volunteering at the hotel and it was an incredible experience. The tasks are simple and even if your English isn't great, everything is explained patiently and all questions are answered. The staff are wonderful—attentive, approachable, and create a great atmosphere. Everything from the interview was respected: even in busier weeks, days off and hours were always organized fairly. The place is amazing, with surf gear and sauna available. Accommodation is shared on weekends and guest rooms during the week. Overall, a 10/10 experience I highly recommend

It was a wonderful experience. I met incredible people who made it unforgettable. The place is surrounded by nature, which allows you to reconnect with yourself while also getting to know new stories and people. Truly, thank you! :)

He pasado 4 semanas increíbles en Killadoon. El equipo es increíble y super acogedor desde el primer momento, el sitio es precioso, parece que estés en una película. Destacaría positivamente que el ambiente te invita a querer llevar una vida activa, hacer deporte de diferentes formas: surf, yoga, hiking… Respecto a las tareas de trabajo son muy sencillas de hacer y si tienes dudas con algo, el personal se encarga de ayudarte con cualquier cosa. En resumen, recomiendo este voluntariado ya que vuelves con mucha felicidad y muchos amigos nuevos de diferentes partes del mundo!

I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel! The owners Chris & Ben are so kind and welcoming, the whole team is just class and always down for great craic. The volunteer room is a bit small, but during the week usually you get to sleep in the guests rooms, which was a huge bonus for me. I will say it is probably more worth it to be a regular volunteer, because as the yoga instructor you end up having almost the same amount of work as the others, but in addition also need to teach multiple classes on the weekends. Either way, the work tasks are completely reasonable && would 100% recommend!

Hey Gina, glad to hear you enjoyed the vibe here and got along with the team.

Just to clear things up for anyone reading this.. all our roles, including yoga instructors, involve a mix of teaching and general daily tasks, which we’re upfront about from the start. That way, everyone pitches in and the workload stays fair. Whilst the yoga instructors tasks are typically more varied, the hours work out as the same as other volunteers. Most times even less.

Loved my experience at BigStyle! All the staff and volunteers were really kind and there was not a single day when I would not feel welcome. The work itself is easy and all the perks like sauna, surf and yoga lessons are absolutely worth it. I won't forget the stunning views and the most relaxing summer break I've ever had. I would definitely have stayed longer if I could <3

I had the absolute best time at the hotel. It was my first volunteering experience and now I'm scared that the bar has been set too high and no other place will ever be this good! The location, lodge and people were all amazing and I actually wish I had stayed longer because I was really enjoying my time there. Paco, Paddy and Tori were all really attentive, kind and fun and I had a great time getting to know them and the other volunteers. Highly recommend this experience <3

I was met with kindness, warmth, and space to simply be myself. Arrived open and curious, but left with a full heart and deep gratitude - the journey that inspired me in ways I didn't expect. To Paco, Paddy, Luke, and Tori, and to all the loveliest volunteers - you made this experience so, so incredibly special. Thank you with all of my heart, for making me feel at home! I'd truly love to return someday and experience it all over again.
