I had a really great time here and would even love to return someday. I enjoyed interacting with the students and the hosts tried to make me feel like part of the family while I was there. I would just be aware that you may be asked to da few additional responsibilities, like cleaning up after dinner or teaching a little past the scheduled time- if this isn't okay with you just be should to set your boundaries. Also, I will say 2 hours is a long class to have for one on one with a student, especially a beginner, so make sure to prepare something ahead of time to avoid awkward silences.

This exchange was great. I would have definitely loved to understand more about the ethnic minority groups, but besides that, I think Kahn is a fantastic person, doing a fantastic job in terms of hosting English classes to empower the youth that hopes to work as tour guides for the Ha the school Loop.

Volunteering here was an overall great experience. Ken's incredibly caring and able to be flexible. When I went on the tour, and was exhausted, he allowed me a day to recuperate and explore the city, before leaving a day earlier than planned. I loved all the home-cooked meals & how inclusive they were with allowing others to join, and cooking me a meal when the family was out to eat. Having a room to yourself is also great! There is lack of Wi-Fi in the room, but you can easily go downstairs. Though minimal, the students are so sweet and willing to learn English too! Everyone's so helpful.

I had a very intersting experience in Ha the school and in ken's gamily and business. I got to learn so much about the ethnic minorities and the people coming from the mountains. Getting to hear very inspiring stories. If you want to really immerse yourself in the local culture and family it is great. The classes were very interesting but lacking students when I was there. I am really glad I had the chance to stay there and got to do the loop, I just hoped we had more freedom/designated hours for tasks to be able to explore more and feel more at ease (and have at least one day off to discover)
