I spent some really amazing days in the shelter during August. I had the chance to disconnect in nature and collaborate for a social cause that I love. The dogs are lovely and grateful, as much as the people I could meet there, and the work is not very hard. I would recommend bringing entertainment for your breaks. I was also able to visit beautiful places in the shelter during my days off. I would certainly repeat. It is wonderful that there are people willing to take care of these lovely dogs, if not, they would be abandoned in the streets.

We spent 4 weeks at the shelter and had a very nice time. Working with the dogs was very easy and a lot of fun. We slept in a tent for 4 weeks and would recommend it for a single person for maybe two weeks. We spent a lot of our free time at the beach, which we walked to as the bikes didn't work during our stay. All in all we had a very nice time and miss the dogs already.

Anna was a nice, capable and friendly person. She worked well in the team and was a flexible lady, helping where she could. She and Lucy were moved into one of our large caravans for the end of their stay as soon as it became available. We have a new large tent arriving which will have two single beds in so peope can share. Anna would be welcome here anytime.

Lucy was a nice, capable and friendly person. She worked well in the team and was a flexible lady, helping where she could. We have a new large tent arriving which will have two single beds in so peope can share. Lucy would be welcome here anytime.

I had a great time at the shelter! The tasks were easy and it is a great experience especially if you love animals and meeting new people. I stayed 2 weeks in the caravan for one which was perfect for me. There is an outdoor kitchen to use and if you need to do laundry you can go into Sagres. There is a beautiful beach that is a 40 minute walk with great hikes to give you something to do during your free time. I would say that the cleanliness of the place could be improved but overall I had a great time and am going to miss the animals and people I met.

It was lovely that you came to help us here. You were friendly, flexible and worked well within the team. You loved the dogs and got on well with the other volunteers. As you know we gave a huge area here and we are tidying it up gradually. However, it isnot that untidy, the caravans are clean and most of our time is devoted to the dogs. Thank you for giving your time to help us here.
