Authentic Thai experience in Pangteom Village, Sameong City

I had an amazing time at the farm. The days are simple, the food is delicious, I really felt like I connected with the real Thailand and felt cared for by the family. The tasks you do depend on the time of year, so for the end of burning season we only did a little bit of planting. Other work we did was to improve the farm (ex. building a new gym out of bamboo), or helping out the locals (preparing the dirt road for rainy season). The afternoons were free and quiet (book, lake) The language barrier could be a bit of a hurdle, but ask questions and you'll find connection! <3

I stayed for 10 days and quickly felt at home with the farm and Dang. Mornings started with peaceful meditation walks, and evenings were spent around the fire. Dang cooked delicious and healthy meals every day—authentic dishes you wouldn't find in restaurants. After months of traveling, it was a gift to eat so well. Phon made a beautiful mango sticky rice and both were happy to teach us their cooking. The place is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and perfect to disconnect from the city.

I really enjoyed my time at the farm and felt so welcomed by Dang, the farm, Wat and Phon. We worked from around 9:30 to 11:30 each day, helping with a new bungalow since planting doesn't start until the rainy season. You're totally off-grid, at one with nature, and you really get to immerse yourself in their way of life. Dang was amazing — and her cooking was even better (with help from her daughter Phon). the farm taught us about Buddhism and guided us through meditation. I would highly recommend staying.

It was an amazing experience! I highly recommend the farm's farm to anyone who wants to discover Thailand without the crowds of tourists. Delicious meals prepared by Dang. The work was 2–3 hours a day, quite intense but really great. Lots of free time and a beautiful lake nearby. I spent two fantastic weeks there and would gladly come back if I visit Chiang Mai again.

I loved relaxing on the farm's beautiful farm. It was a genuine local experience in rural Thailand. The food was fresh and yummy. I went during the off-season, but I learned about bamboo, Buddhism, and got to go to hot springs, a lake, a waterfall, and an amazing local festival. I dug a trench for water and helped build a fish pond. Make sure to bring anything you need, and something to do, as it is rural and there is no electricity, but you are able to charge devices as needed. It was a very calming and peaceful place and feel free to ask me questions about it!

During my stay at the farm's farm I really liked being surrounded by nature, living a slower life and getting an insight into the life of the lovely the farm family and the local people from the village :) After having some working hours in the morning we always had a lot of time to either recharge or to go explore the area together! I really enjoyed connecting with other like-minded volunteers, working together, reflecting about the day by the campfire after meditation & also spending time with the very welcoming local people (communicating only with a few words and lots of smiles 💜)

My stay at the farm was truly extraordinary. Apart from working on field (garlic harvesting), I've had an opportunity to help local community with road building, cutting down bamboo and bushes to create a new place for cemetery in neighbouring village, visit home of the locals or clean outskirts of the temple. I truly enjoyed walking meditation in the morning, chanting and meditation in the evening. the farm and his family are very kind people with big hearts always making sure that volunteers are happy. I will definitely come back one day. Thank you for this outstanding experience ❤️

Whatchara Farm is the kind of experience any long time traveller should do, you don't realize how stressed you are until you go in a Farm in nature, quiet, where there is appreciation for the small things! The food was good and healthy, and i learned to looove sticky rice. I would advice though that if you're expecting easy work relaxing all day, maybe with a tv or wi-fi or restaurants and services around you, maybe it's not for you. The Farm is in a very small village of locals and countryside, and if that's your thing, you are going to love this place! Thank you for everything, i loved it!

It was the best week of my trip so far! the farm, Dang and Phone were the most heartwarming people I have met. Everyday there was a different work task to do, so it got never boring. I learnt a lot about Buddhism, Thai culture and farm life in Thailand. This place is perfect for settling down for one week, meeting new people and get in touch with the culture. It is their personal space too so be nice and respectful! Much love to the farm 🇹🇭❤️
