We had an incredible stay as volunteers at the lodge. Joel is exceptionally kind and truly knows how to make you feel at home. the lodge is much more than just a place to stay, it's a gateway to discovering local life and feeling the love the people have for their region.The tasks were simple and well-organized.Special thanks to Luis, who made it possible for us to enjoy even more amazing experiences during our stay! If you're looking for a mission that combines cultural immersion, friendliness, and adventure, the lodge is the perfect destination. 😊

Jade & Melanie fueron excelentes voluntarias, de las mejores que hemos recibido en el proyecto. Son unas chicas bien organizadas y responsables, atentas, ademas de muy dispuestas y con buena iniciativa para las tareas asignadas. Su personalidad y energia fueron pieza clave durante las 5 semanas que estuvieron con nosotros. Las recomiendo al 100%. Todo anfitrion que quiera hacer su lugar mas pintoresco y sumarle buenas vibras deberia de recibirlas. Las vamos a extranar mucho, nos veremos pronto🫶

I had an amazing experience at the lodge. Joel was the best host. He always drove us around and took us to many bars at night. I also had the opportunity to meet & connect with many local people. The best part was the trips Joel organized for us, like a tour of the rainforest and a boat trip. The hotel itself is very beautiful and volunteers get single rooms & free meals. The work wasn't complicated or hard. I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to experience the true Puerto Rico. ¡Muchas gracias, Joel, para la increíble experiencia y todos los chinchorreos!

Nuestra experiencia en the lodge fue maravillosa, fue mi primer voluntariado y sin duda fue mi mejor opción, la gente que trabaja ahí siempre fueron muy lindos con nosotras y Joel fue un host increíble siempre estuvo pendiente que no nos faltara nada y siempre pudimos tener buena comunicación y coordinación, a lo mejor hay pequeños detalles con las cosas que se tienen que hacer pero sin duda alguna recomendaría the lodge / alisios para cualquiera que quiera venir, creo algo importante es que sepan un poco de español o mínimo lo entiendan para que se puedan comunicar mejor.

It was an amazing experience, the passion that Joel has for his vision is truly remarkable. Really, this place is phenomenal! You get to meet so many people, experience the restaurant culture, and enjoy the business of a bed and breakfast! It was my first experience and the trailers for the volunteers are phenomenal! I felt safe at all times and enjoyed hikes, trails, açai bowls and getting to know the people. Thanks Joel, I would come back. Una experiencia super agradable, una oportunidad donde conoces el ambiente, me sentí seguro y contento con mi primera experiencia, si volvería✍🏽

My experience at the lodge has been the best. It is a magical place in the mountains, it's a Paradise, is a perfect place to be in contact with nature, relaxing. The kindness and generosity of people is incredible. Joel is the best host, he is kind, takes care of others, is generous. Thank you so much Joel and all the Staff, you are a wonderful people. I will definitely return. I'll miss you guys 🫠

Estar en el alojamiento medio la oportunidad de conocer a muchas personas de otros países. De adquirir más experiencia, donde el anfitrión siempre fue muy atento, dispuesto ayudar y compartir. Tuve la oportunidad te ayudar en área de la cocina, mesero, limpiar las habitaciones y pasar tiempo en la piscinas. Tube la bendición de conectar con la naturaleza viendo increíbles amaneceres y atadeceres, apreciendo la lluvia, el frío y la neblina. En fin pude conectarme con todo lo que me rodea con buena energía, magia y amor. Recomiendo este maravilloso lugar para conectarse consigo mismo. "Pura Vida"

Es un lugar maravilloso, el equipo de trabajo son muy formales, te tratan con respeto, el host Joel siempre busca la forma de hacerte sentir como en hogar, volveria mil veces.

Joel was an excellent host. He always does what he says he will and I admire that. Ran into a few issues with the chefs, specifically surrounding meal times/portions of food/number of meals during the weekend. However, as the program is new for joeland his business as well, he has made the addition of a fridge/air fryer, and groceries should allow that issue to be resolved. Overall, the bumps along the road did not overpower my pleasant experience. I'd just focus on communicating to Joel your needs and he will do everything he can to ensure you have what you need. I am glad to have met Joel!

Mel fue increible! Ella es toda una lider de equipo! organizada, siempre dispuesta a realizar las tareas. Se levantaba bien temprano a comenzar las tareas, siempre comunicativa. Es una persona que fluye en equipo. Trabaja en equipo. La recomiendo 100%, Mel te deseo lo mejor en tus planes de vida! y sabes que aqui tienes un hermano! Gracias por toda tu ayuda!
