Had an absolutely amazing time. Felt welcomed into the family & home immediately. Mark & Dee are very happy people and really make an effort to show you local events and nearby places! The work is more than fair and the food is great. Definitely recommend it

I had an amazing experience here:) Mark and Dee are great hosts who made me feel welcome in their home. During my time with them I learnt to stone carve, practiced archery in garden and went on trips to see the surrounding area all of which I enjoyed very much!!

I spent wonderful days in the company of Dee & Mark. They exemplify the principles of hospitality and are the loveliest hosts I know. I enjoyed a lot being able to collaborate on their dream in renovating their new home and I can't wait to be there with them on future projects. There are some lovely villages to visit and Dee & Mark were more than happy to take you to there and meeting also their amazing friends... Thank you for everything and I also thank life for introducing me to incredible people like you. I will miss you all daily. Good luck with everything and we'll see you soon.

Mark and Diane are wonderful hosts who really try to do everything they can to provide a great stay for anyone there, I thought I'd be only resting in the countryside but there's just so much to discover there, and as we only worked in the morning it was quite easy to find some time to get to know the place. There I learned how to shoot with the longbow and explored the Morvan regional park. We also went to Bibracte nearby and the Morvan's Resistance Museum, and much more!

Mark & D are wonderful hosts, both outgoing & involved in the community. We had home-cooked meals every day, took trips to historic landmarks, thrift shops, the lake, bars, & art parties with their friends. Delia even found a cafe for me to play my first "french gig" 🎸 We also visited local towns, & farmer's markets. At home, we played games, watched movies, & practiced archery 🏹 in the yard 😀 They are really easy going, fun to hang out with, and also quite British 😆 My friend & I absolutely loved our time spent as part of this lovely family ❤️ 💙 💜 Thank you so much - Patrick&Rayne

Without a doubt, one of the best experiences! With Mark and Dee I was able to practice my English, help around the house, paint, try ceramics, get to know the city with local tours and try wonderful food. I recommend them if you want to have a spectacular experience like I had.

Such a lovely family, always a smile on there faces. They are walking text books knowing so much about to local environment and history. The weekends are the best going to a rich culture and historic location! Marks food was always so delicious, the work was always well planned and approachable. there home has a beautiful view of the country side and an amazing view of the stars at night.

What an amazing experience, I couldn't recommend it enough. Mark and Dee are incredible people and I'll miss them dearly. They make amazing food, show you all around while giving you great knowledge of the area, teach you awesome skills (I personally loved archery), you can tell they truly care for the volunteers. The area is simply amazing as well, never-ending views everywhere you look, great walks and a beautiful lake a short drive away, lots of history all around. Can't wait to see how the house develops and come back to see everyone! Thank you so much for the incredible experience !!

It was an incredible experience. Mark and Dee are incredible and lovely people, they are very attentive and willing to show you everything around so that you have an incredible experience and learn about the stories of the village. Incredible experience with the local culture and Mark's delicious cuisine. I loved learning bow and arrow, lots of fun with pool and giant jenga competitions. Thank you Mark and Dee for the incredible memories of Vila Veaumery and the home.

Mark is incredibly committed to the personal growth of his volunteers & providing opportunities to learn unique skills such as stone carving & longbow archery. Both him and Dee are kind & interesting people that work hard to make sure everyone is comfy, happy, & well fed. We stayed with them in Vaumery, ~30min from Moulins-Engilbert. As the project progresses I believe volunteers will be housed in the renovated the home. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking to spend some time in the French countryside, surrounded by history & the gorgeous Morvan national park.
