What a pleasure to stay in this lovely hostel. I had to work 2 days, 2 days off...the morning shift is quiet hard. It always depends on the beds you have to change.:-). The staff have their own garden with swimmingpool. Which gives you a place to recover. Roy is an amazing host. He is generous, easy going and a beautiful soul. Aline, Roys girlfriend cokked every evening a delicious dinner for us. Even for my as a vegetarian! I loved it And not to forget Sunny, the hosteldog made my day every morning. Aline & Roy thanks for your trust, your hospitality and of course for the TABIOCA!

I spent 1 month in Albufeira and I got to know wonderful landscapes in the city and enjoyed the hostel with the most Zen decoration I have ever seen in my life. Besides the hostel is stunning, the area of the volunteers is wonderful to relax and there is still Sunny, the dog who makes any day perfect. Roy made me feel at home with his sympathy and love in treating people and Aline is really creative and cooks very well. Although we had some communication problems, I learned to be more organized with her. And I thank both of them for understanding when I needed to leave earlier. You were great!

Very disappointing. To sum: 1. No concern or respect for the comfort of the volunteer, especially for night shift. Host will blame you for sleeping during the day and not respect your switched sleeping pattern. 2. Bad atmosphere by host and a worker who is permanent cleaner for accommodation, with bad and bossy manners in general. 3. Staff room is small with 7 beds, no bathroom and far from the one shared with guests. 4. Nobody will adapt to English if you don't speak Portuguese, which is plain bad manners. 5. Not laid back at all, resembles a military camp, orders, reprimands in free time.

Hey Pavel. I´m sorry that you feel that way. I´m sure that this was not a good match from beginning. We respect all of our staff. That means that if the other staff members complain about you sleeping all day every day, even if you didn´t work and you closing the door and the curtains 24/7, so there is never day light or fresh air coming in, then sorry we have to find a solution. You basically didn´t leave the room, but others have the right too, to use their space. About speaking mostly portuguese. You speak fluent spanish and I asked you if you mind us speaking portuguese for example at dinner. You said you it is ok and you wanted to learn portuguese. With you everyone spoke english or spanish.
I really hope that you can see the world abit more positive and you will see that your experiences will be better too. Try to self-reflect abit more. Negativity breads negative response. Still, all the best to you.

The best hostel in Portugal! wonderful people working together, delicious food, amazing atmosphere! You will feels like a family with Roy, Aline and the best dog in the world, Sunny! The perfect place to work hard, play hard, learning a lot and share your thoughts and feelings :) and know the best beaches, sunsets, and spots too! I strongly recommend!

Definelly one of the most organized hostels ever, if not the most organized one! Great atmosfere, Roy and Aline explaine everything perfectly for you and they are fair with the tasks. Staying with them was really great and also the others staffs were amazing. I worked at the night shift doing check-in and check-out when necessary and a very light cleaning before the end of the shift. If you are looking for a great experience you choose the right place! I would advise to stay longer than a month haha Thanks for everything Roy and Aline, wish all the best for you

I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to stay and volunteer for such an amazing hostel like this one. Roy and Aline have been very welcoming and they treat everyone with respect. They have really turned this hostel into a home and they are the hardest workers I know. Everything is super organised, the work schedule is fair and flexible and the best part is it feels like you're part of a family. The experience has been so good that I stayed for another month! Highly recommend this place!

I've been at the hostel for two months and it has been an amazing experience! Roy, Aline and the rest of the staff are great and welcoming, the food and the place are also really great and you get to know a lot of people from everywhere around the world. Thank you everything!!

Become part of the hostel family was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I had such special time with the staff team and also the guests. Everything is clean and organized and the host Roy is an incredible man that helped all of us. I appreciate a lot the time I spent there and for sure will be back soon.

An absolutely amazing month in Portugal, the hostel is absolutely lovely and the staff have their own private patio at the back with hammocks and even a little pool! Roy and Aline were very welcoming and Aline is a wonderful cook! If I ever find myself back in Portugal it will definitely be here!
