Animal Rescue: Help in a sanctuary vegan farm!

My experience at the shelter was very nice, i fell in love with all of the animals there. Also, it's very nice to have other volunteers live with you whom you can connect to. I would recommend the experience if you are looking for nature and the shelter care. Know that the days are pretty long which can be hard sometimes but you do have a lot of breaks and nice days off. :)

I had more of an unconventional Worldpackers' experience than most but nonetheless it was a great time! I just came up to the shelter for the day to shoot some content to post on social media and it was such a pleasure getting to know Brad and all the shelter animals. It's obvious how much Brad cares for the animals in the way that he treats them :) They even apply sunscreen and bug spay to keep the animals more comfortable. I met other Worldpackers there too and they seemed happy with their work situation! They liked how many breaks they get and their living accommodations :)

I enjoyed taking care of all the animals and being able to give my time to a vegan the shelter organization! However, my experience was not exactly as advertised. At the time of my application, the description still mentioned buses running 2x daily from Dayboro. But there hasn't been public transport there for 7 years. Due to this, it was difficult for me to see other parts of QLD on my time off. It's possible for Brad to take you to the train station, but schedules would have to align. Things to be aware of: rough terrain, no dryer, mice in living space, training is done by other volunteers

This will be my second worldpacker trip ever and quite honestly, a lovely experience overall! I loved all the animals I met and took care of whilst I stayed here at FAR! If you love the countryside and away from city life, this is truly the place to go! The volunteer experience was honestly quite a rigorous job, you will have numerous tasks to do throughout the day, with many breaks in between! If you are a hardworker and a the shelter lover who strives to take care of the farm and the people around you, this is your calling! 💞💞 I will miss every single one of the many animals they have!

I couldn't have started my worldpackers experience in a better way. Everyone at the sanctuary was super welcoming as soon as I arrived. The work itself is hard but very rewarding, we were each helping all of the animals have the best life possible and learnt about the horrible environment a lot of the animals came from. I would definitely recommend this experience!
