The experience was really nice! the team was great and we have a really good time there.. the hostel was closed at the moment so we did different tasks to put everything in order. Joep de owner was really nice and help me to spend a good time in the city and to find everything I needed. I truly recommend the place and the experience!

Being in the hostel was wonderful, Joep is an excellent host, he was quite patient with me, I don't speak English well and he helped me and motivated me to practice, he always tried to speak slower for me and I really appreciate that a lot. the schedules and activity conform to the description, time passes quickly in the hostel. Thank you very much for having us. 🤗

Volunteering at the hostel is amazing. Is a place where you can develop a variety of skills. Joep is always happy to help, and Nijmegen is a nice city. I highly recommend to work here and live the experience

Excelente primera experiencia como voluntaro. El Hostel esta muy bien ubicado y hay un muy buen ambiente de trabajo y excelente convivencia. Lo mejor es que la idea de Joep es que el hostel siempre tenga diferentes proyectos que involucren a lxs voluntarios y que no sea solo trabajar ahí y dormir. En cuanto a la ciudad, es muy linda y tranquila. Buen punto para desde allí recorrer otros lugares de los Países Bajos .

✅️volunteered😊 in the reconstruction of Hostel Barbarrosa after the pandemic, alongside other amazing volunteers. The host, Joep, is exceptional and attentive to the volunteers' needs, and the breakfast offered is delicious. The 🔝city of Nijmegen🌍 is beautiful and typically Dutch, with many shops, restaurants, and markets nearby. Every Saturday, there is a market in the city. As the hostel is located in the center, it is possible to walk to the train station and visit other cities in the Netherlands. This was an incredible and unique experience, and I can't wait to return.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇

Joep tiene un corazon enorme que se ve a kilómetros! Ahora está reabriendo su hostal y si bien es un trabajo arduo, creo que lo peor ya paso, por favor vayan a conocerlo y ayudarlo!! Por lo demás Nijmegen es una hermosa antigua ciudad de historia Romana que puedes caminar en un par de horas. Le deseo todo lo mejor al Hostal y espero siga siendo un lugar de encuentro para viajeros del mundo :)

Mi experiencia en Hostal el hostel fue bastante buena. El grupo de voluntarios fue super simpático y trabajador, por lo que pudimos tener un buen trabajo de equipo y ver un tremendo avance en el Hostal. Joep es muy simpático y comprensivo. Sin duda el aprendizaje es super diverso, desde construir y pintar, hasta crear y diseñar. Lo recomiendo!!

My experience was wonderful! Joep is an incredible person and has always been concerned about the well being of the volunteers. Sometimes the renovation work can be tiring, but the tasks are pretty smooth overall. Nijmegen is a beautiful and pleasant city and it is very easy to reach other cities in the Netherlands from there. I definitely recommend this experience!

The hostel is changing very fast and Joep is a host like no other. He's always looking for ways to provide us some comfort and fun, he's also very helpful and it's very nice to see that we were able to help transform the hostel. The location is perfect, very central, and Nijmegen is very green and a welcoming city. I'm looking forward to seeing the result of the work and I sincerely hope it exceeds expectations. Great place, great people.The coolest construction site I've ever been to kkkkk

Positive . The city's a real charm, I loved it. There's a good train station and several bus lines . The hostel's atmosphere was nice . The owner let my girlfriend and me stay, most of the time, in a private room, and it was good to practice English with him. He was flexible with the work schedule Negative . The work, especially during the weekends, was tiring and stressful . There weren't any real employees and the owner only showed himself up for a few hours during the week and he was rarely present on the weekends. Therefore, the hostel was managed by the volunteers

Hello Rafael,

I am sorry to hear again that you found it stressfull. As I said in my conversations to you I am taking the feedback on board and we are doing the same amount of work now with double the people, so it is all a lot less demanding.

I do not think your observations about the management and my hours are very accurate. But like we discussed I am looking for someone to assist over the weekends.
