The experience at this hostel was great. I felt very comfortable, and our manager, Erick, was extremely kind and attentive. I was fortunate to meet colleagues who became lifelong friends. We received plenty of food to prepare breakfast, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the living room was where we spent most of our time. The room is quite small, and I don't think it accommodates the number of volunteers well; we felt very cramped.

I had a great time in the hostel! The bedroom is nice, good showers, the breakfast is very good and abundant, they try really hard to make everyone happy. I worked in the cleaning/housekeeping and reception shifts. Be aware that in here you can party very hard and have loads of fun, but you also have to work hard. The cleaning shift is not always pleasant, but it is worth it considering the environment and the people you get to enjoy here. Definetly in my top 5 volunteer experiences. Erick was a plus - thank you so much for everything bro, you are AWESOME. I am already missing the hostel 💙

The hostel facilities are quite simple but you got everything you need and the location is great. The work is easy and even when the hostel is busy is not hard at all, you may have to make a lot of beds on weekends but that's it. The amount of work required is exactly what agreed and you will have plenty of free time to do whatever you feel like doing it. The whole thing with the place is the people, I made really good friends and had an amazing time. Joep and Erick, thank you so much for looking after us and being such good hosts, you are the best.

Jonty and I had a great time in Nijmegen at the hostel. The city is so cute, and it's easy to get around the Netherlands to explore, especially on your 3 days off! The cleaning and reception work is straightforward and there is always someone to clarify details if needed. Be prepared to work hard, and be available to guests any time you're in a communal area. Junior and Eric are great, and we volunteered with the loveliest people! the hostel worked perfectly for our overseas trip.

The hostel is a really cool place to camp out for a couple of months or so during your travels or as a middle ground looking for a more permanent move into the Netherlands. The hostel is a work in progress - some systems could be refined - but its a nice place to live, the work is fair, and it's a lovely city (the river is perfect for summer). Erick and Junior front the management team on the ground, and they're really great people. If you need something, they try to get it done. They also really try to encourage a good volunteer culture with BBQs, shared dinners, and movie nights.

I really enjoyed staying at Barbarrosa hostel. The town is lovely with beautiful river and also location is great close from any transportation. And all the staff , Joep, Junior and Erick was like a family who are always there for me. It was a blessing!

Volunteering at the hostel was an experience beyond my expectations The other volunteers I met were fantastic people, 6 short but intense weeks that I will remember for a long time Junior and Erick, the managers of the hostel, were welcoming and always thought of a vegetarian alternative for me Great experience in a place where you can breathe a family air and at the same time many guests come and leave. Also, the city is beautiful, so much green and so many parks, things to do, festival Surely to be done again : )) l definitely gonna miss you guys ❤️ Wish you all the best

Definitivamente ha sido un antes y un después en mi vida esta experiencia. Estoy muy agradecida con todos y sobre todo con Junior por cuidarme y brindarme todo el apoyo siempre. El hostel es hermoso y el equipo increíblemente bueno!

I'm glad I came to the Netherlands. My experience here has taught me a lot. I was impressed by how efficiently my colleagues worked. Individual opinions are also respected.and It's a very cozy place to stay. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.Sperwow:)

An incredible experience, the hostel tasks were easy and simple, I would still recommend having more volunteers because sometimes it is quite a lot of work. The best of all was feeling at home and meeting wonderful people that I will always carry in my heart. Thank you very much, especially to Junior for being an incredible Manager :)
