Help me build the first ever wikihouse eco boat in central London

It was an interesting experience for me. Ben is a fun person to be around and has a big heart. Although he is very chaotic, he truly cares and is very attentive. In ways I thought it worked really well for us and we created a great team! Dare to be interested about his life and ask questions, he's a great story teller and very open to share. You'll have to be an independent worker since he is quite absent (due to meetings) and be flexible when plans change or little tasks come in the way. The profile is not up to date, so it was very different than I expected but still I had a nice time!

Buena experiencia. Se aportan £50 para comida (básicamente groceries) por 2 semanas; Ben suele comprar lo básico (arroz, pasta). Es clave tener buen nivel de inglés para comunicarte bien, ya que los trabajos son tipo DIY y variados. Es una experiencia diferente puesto que se vive en un bote en construcción, cuando fui no había baño instalado, tómalo en cuenta hay uno a 150 m. Los horarios son flexibles, pero deben hablarse con Ben con anticipación, aun así él es amable. Recomiendo quedarte 2 semanas: es suficiente para conocer Londres y aportar al proyecto.

This was a nice experience for my last weeks in London. It was very interesting to stay at a boat in the marina, in the middle of the city. Ben is a super nice guy, he gave me a tour of the place upon arrival and shared his experience so far with this project. He is a very good cook and has great conversation. What I think could be improved is the info on the position: - The project changed from a refugee help center to a personal living space - The design changed from a Wikihouse to a DIY refurbishing one - The hours are usually more than 25 a week, so you must negoiate your time off

So I planned on staying 6 weeks turned into almost 3 months 😇 ben is a wonderful host, person and now friend, some days are challenging, but guaranteed to learn alot... Lovely location in London, highly recommend 🤗

One of the more eclectic stays I've had over the past 4 months. the boat is cozy and located in a very nice part of London. Easy access to mass transit and local attractions. Ben is a great guy and provides an eclectic lifestyle and fun work environment. I was able to meet some of the locals in the area and spent my free time traveling all around London.

It was a truly amazing and pleasant experience. Ben is a great guy to learn/ be around, easy going over all. Very thoughtful and witty , enjoyed our conversations together. Beautiful port area with a great view of downtown London. Highly recommended and will definitely do it again! Thanks so Ben! It's been an honor.

It was an eclectic, fun, sometimes hectic and challenging and sometimes very rewarding experience. As a person looking for design/architecture volunteering opportunities, I enjoyed seeing the timber structure coming together, collaborating with others and working in the open air. The schedule and assigned tasks were frequently unclear and not really thought through and/or kept changing, which required a certain amount of patience, flexibility and efforts at clear communication. We didn't eat meals together- me and the other volunteers bought our own food and had a working kitchen to cook in.

Ben es buena persona y el trabajo fue muy divertido. Pero tengo que hablar también que las condiciones del barco no estaban para nada buenas. Muy sucio y desordenado. Ademas el baño estuvo roto las dos semanas que estuve por lo que debíamos ir a uno afuera con el frío y la lluvia de Londres.. Tampoco tenía agua caliente.. No hay desayuno ni almuerzo ni cena .. solo 20e q para el costo de Londres no alcanza para mucho. Lo hablé con él y dijo que se comprometía a solucionarlo. Espero que así sea porque es un proyecto hermoso.

It's a different experience, living on a boat is something unique, zero privacy, the bed is literally in the kitchen, in some situations you have to work more hours during the day, if you don't have a problem with this, you'll be fine. I hardly shared with Ben but he's a very kind person, sometimes he invites you to dinner with his friends on the other boats.

Es un proyecto que requiere mucho compromiso, limpieza y paciencia, tienes q estar dispuesto a colaborar en todo tipo de labores, sin embargo, te da la oportunidad de vivir en Londres y esta muy bien conectada con bus al centro por bus (188) o el (1) asi como tambien dos estaciones de metro muy cercanas, canada waters y surrey quays. Llevar ropa contra el frio es fundamental! Si eres una persona responsable lo vas a disfrutar de seguro!
