My experience at the school was very special. I only have good things to say about this opportunity, and I highly recommend it. Ariel is an amazing guy and will always be accommodating. I was quite satisfied with the food and living situation and felt at home in the school. Paramountly, as is always the case in these reviews, the kids are absolutely wonderful and make you feel so loved. This experience will forever bring me encouragement to live a better life, and I'm very grateful for it. My advice for teaching is not to become overwhelmed. Do the best you can each day and you'll get results.

I had a lovely time in the school. Ariel is a great host and was responsive to what I needed, especially when I spoke with him directly. He was very flexible with us and even drove me to and from San Pedro Sula multiple times, which was very generous. The school hours were as expected and we had lots of free time afterward. The kids love to play and are very curious, but the school could use some structure (volunteers have a huge potential to help with this!). The house was a small but comfortable space - we had the basics, but it was enough. Overall, a fantastic first Worldpackers experience.

I would most definitely recommend this experience to anyone who is both fond of children and keen to practice their Spanish. Everyone at CBC is incredibly kind and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching my students and collaborating with the other members of the team (teachers and other volunteers). I felt very comfortable living in the school and connecting with locals. Additionally, I've found that this opportunity allowed for a good deal of exploring (locally and on weekend trips).

Volunteering at CBC was one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences. I stayed for a month (and would have stayed longer if I didn't have limited time) teaching my own classes of 2nd and 6th grade English. I will say that the volunteering is a lot of work, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're willing to put in the time and effort. However, Ariel and the other teachers were so helpful and accommodating. Come with an open mind and you really will see the difference you can make as a volunteer. The children and teachers at CBC will stay with me for a long time.

I really enjoyed my time here! the school may be quiet, but its unique charm offers a look into real life. The other volunteers did their best to prepare me for school, and the school staff greeted me warmly. While the school lacked organisation, I know Ariel is doing the best he can with the resources he has. The children of course leave a lasting impact, it was a pleasure being able to teach them. Embracing ambiguity with an open mind is important, in summary you really get what you give out of this experience.

My time at the school was great! Ariel is a fantastic person who cares a lot about the kids and the volunteers. He always makes sure that everyone is comfortable, safe and that the house is working. The school activities can be tough, expecially for a first-time teacher, but with careful lessons planning it's fine.

Overall my experience at the school was memorable but chaotic. The kids are amazing of course, and the work is very rewarding but I found a lot of issues with the staff and organization of the school which made it hard to fully enjoy. Ariel was only at school half the time, and not a reliable resource when it came to help planning classes or answering our questions. “volunteers work 5 hours a day” is untrue, school hours are 7am-2pm, excluding transportation and lesson planning. I'd only recommend this to those w teaching experience and are prepared to work as a full time teacher.

During my time at CBC I was able to meet amazing volunteers and meet the most incredible children at the school. However, my time there was also on the chaotic side. On my first day there was no real structure and I was thrown into a second grade class on my own with no instructions. The line of communication at the school could be improved due to the fact that the other volunteers and I were lied to on many occasions and that the management failed to take on board our feedback when given. Overall however I had an incredible experience being able to meet and teach those wonderful children.
