The volunteer role was loosely defined, and feedback was not clearly communicated. Based on the role description, I consistently completed assigned tasks, took initiative where needed, and actively engaged and socialized with guests as expected. Despite this, I was told I “moved too slow,” without prior warning, performance discussion, or opportunity to course-correct. Performance decisions felt subjective rather than tied to clearly defined outcomes. I also observed social and cultural dynamics that may affect how comfortable different volunteers feel in this environment.

Tout simplement parfait, surtout pour une première expérience ! Dès le premier jour j'ai été bien accueillie, les taches sont bien expliquées et simples, et aucun problème s'il faut un temps d'adaptation, il y a toujours quelqu'un pour vous aider :) Les shifts (matin, midi ou soir) sont vraiment tranquilles, ce qui permet d'avoir encore de l'énergie pour visiter les alentours dans la journée. Encore merci à tout monde pour cette super expérience que je ne peux que recommander :)

Este fue sin duda una de las mejores experiencias que tuve como voluntaria, las tareas son super fáciles, el equipo de trabajo es increible, siempre alegres y haciéndote reir. Las comidas son exquisitas y la habitación muy comoda. La gente es super calida y hay muchísimas actividades por hacer en Kampot, por lo que sin duda recomiendo estar mas de dos semanas. Gracias el hostel por esta oportunidad!

Volunteering here was such a wonderful experience. It's the perfect place to stay for a while if you want a chill, fun atmosphere and the view of the river never gets old. It's a bit outside Kampot, so it's peaceful, but still easy to get to with a tuk tuk or a bike. The work itself is simple and enjoyable (mostly helping at the bar, with check-ins and bike rental), but what really made my time special were the people — everyone is super friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. The accommodation is very basic, but the time I spent here was totally worth it.

This places is magical! I enjoy soooo much the vibe of this place. The lake it's absolutely stunning, you will never be tired to look at it. People it's very kind and friendly z especially Tak ! They all looks a bit serious in the begging but the are very friendly and kind people. I had such a great time talking and playing games with them. The food it's also amazing. This places is perfect if you want to relax and meet good people.

This was my first time volunteering and i would recommend it to anyone !! Everyone at this hostel is super welcoming and so so kind. Special mention to Jamie and Tak who both worked here with me, they made my stay exceptional. Work hours are easy and even though it's a little far from town, it's very easy to get to with a bike or tuktuk

I've just left the hostel and absolutely loved my 2 weeks there. As it's rainy season there are no evening events and fewer travellers, so it's a great place to just chill in your free time. Bicycles and kayaks are free to use for volunteers. The team are great and will help you with whatever you need. I hope to go back sometime!
