Shirley, Yeilin, and Maria are the absolute sweetest and most welcoming hosts. I had so much fun living and working alongside them. The work is not strenuous at all and it was so awesome to learn about all of their sustainable practices. I always looked forward to each meal with them. It was a really great opportunity that I cannot recommend enough!!! Do bring lots to read (a lot of free time)!

Este fue mi primer voluntariado con Worldpackers is estoy tan feliz de haber venido a esta finca. Desde el primer Momento me recibieron como si fuera parte de su familia y me enseñaron muchisimo sobre El cuidado al medioambiente, permacultura y El amor hacia los animales. Con Todo el amor, la paciencia y la perseverancia crearon un espacio hermoso, un hogar. La comida que preparan es deliciosa y El trabajo es super ameno y todos Los dias haven una actividad Nueva. Tambien se adaptan a los deseos personales de cada uno y estan abiertas a recibir cualquier sugerencia. Muchas gracias!

I had an incredible time at the project. From the moment I arrived, the whole family made sure that I felt welcome and comfortable. They were very kind and patient in helping me work on my Spanish. I also learned a lot from them about permaculture from our morning work. I enjoyed afternoon walks on the road they live on. I would definitely recommend bringing gloves and a book or other activity for the afternoon. I would definitely go again!

This was my first volunteering experience with Worldpackers and it was amazing! Volunteering with Yeilin is a great way to learn about culture and food of Costa Rica as well as organic agriculture/permaculture. The family and their friends are very kind and respectful. I feel like I experienced real local, rural life here. We only spoke Spanish, which was perfect for improving my language skills. The work during my stay was mainly planting seeds and trees. I also enjoyed the free time in the hammock with a good book or went for a walk along the „road“ up or down the mountain.

Great family experience! Yeilin and Shirley are so kind! The farm is in the middle of nature, really nice to rest! I did different manual works during my stay (remember to bring gloves). You will also have a lot of free time for yourself, so bring some books :)

Gracias a Shirley y Yeilin por estas dos semanas en la finca. Me relajé mucho y lo pase muy bien, aprendí mucho sobre Permacultura, sobre todo escuchando y viendo como ellas trabajan la tierra en su finca. Así como también aprendí sobre cosas de Costa Rica (que tenemos varias similitudes con Chile). Para haber sido mi primera experiencia lo recomiendo 100%, se van a sentir como en casa. Vas a tener mucho tiempo libre, recomiendo llevar algún libro o algo para entretenerte.

What a blessing it was to volunteering with Shirley and Yeilin. They open their arms to the volunteers and share their way of life. Everyday, I looked forward to the daily task, delicious healthy meals, and engaging conversation. I highly recommend this place if you looking to connect with nature and learn about permaculture. Deeply touched by this experience!

From the first day on Shirley, Yeilin and Maria made me feel like a part of the family. The provided food is delicious and the work is very manageable. I recommend a basic Spanish knowledge if you want to further improve your Spanish. Definitely recommended! :)

What a great experience. If you want to learn about permaculture, live with a local family and practice your spanish, this is your place! I loved every aspect about it and can highly recommend this place. Yeilin, Shirley and Maria made me feel at home from the first day on and were always super understanding and helpful. What I enjoyed most about this experience was that I got to spend so much time with the family, working in the garden or with the animals, eating and cooking together, ... Anyways you also have a lot of time for yourself, which I mainly used to read in the hammock :)

Un sitio ideal si quieres desconectar y escapar, aprender de ti y de la naturaleza. Los anfitriones te dan un calor familiar y conectas muy bien con ellos y el entorno. Si eres amante de los animales es tu lugar adecuado
