My stay was an interesting experience. The mountains are breathtaking, Joy is kind, funny, and flexible with free days, and most volunteers were amazing. I'm grateful to have met them, but the experience wouldn't be as good without them and Joy. Be aware: the place can be messy, and Giuliano can be difficult; he often yells and swears, making many uncomfortable. Almost all volunteers left early. I understand it was a busy season, but improvements are needed. Above all, respect and understanding are crucial. Big thanks to Joy and the volunteers!

You and Emma left early because you saw the photos on Instagram of your friends having fun in the beautiful Italian cities and on the shores of the Mediterranean sea and you wanted to join them, so you have to find some excuse...Anyway, leave at 6am morning without saying goodbye or leaving a note doesn't do you much credit

The stay in Trentino was an enriching experience, the nature and mountains won't dissapoint you. I also fell in love with Joy and her cooking skills! Thanks for all the time we spent together. I wasnt so much in touch with Guiliano. I guess he tried his best but if you plan to go there be prepared that it's not gonna be a calm stay. Sometimes also screaming is involved which personally Im not used to when volunteering. Also dont expect too much appreciation as he even said in previous comments. At the beginning everything was very chaotic for me but somehow you have to get used to it.

yes sometimes I screamed, I think every husband gets annoyed with his wife when she scratches the car 3 times in a month, and yes, perhaps this is not a place for princesses...

I met so many lovely people at the farm! The scenery was really pretty, and going on hikes there in my free time was just amazing! Giuliano's wife, Joy, is super caring aswell. She made us fresh food every day at lunch and dinner, and it was SO good. However, Giuliano would shout at Joy regularly, and we could hear them arguing outside in our tents/ caravans. The accommodation also left much to be desired. We could only access the kitchen, or any seating area inside, for eating. The bathroom was in a disgusting state when I arrived, and I didn't feel clean when I had showered, ...

You came in Ferragosto time, which means every Italian go on holiday, and that is the busiest time for everybody working with tourist like us. That's why Giuliano was a bit nervous, coz sleeping 4 hours a day doesn't help!
We have a big open tent with a big table for volunteers to play cards or use their laptop, and we have mountains and a lot of trails to walk to enjoy, this is a nature area, not a hotel to sleep or stand by.
About the bathroom each volunteer have their schedule to clean it everyday, the volunteers are here to help, is not the host assignment to clean the bathroom for the volunteers!!!

I stayed at the farm for about a month and had an amazing experience overall. The location is beautiful and there is loads of hiking to do. Joy is a wonderful person who cooks amazing food, and the work is not physically difficult. I met amazing people and I went on many adventures during my stay. Giuliano is old fashioned and expects hard work, and he can be bit harsh at times. However if you are hardworking and know what to expect I don't think this will impact you very much. It is a great experience, and I am very grateful for my time there.

I am not old fashioned and I don't expect heavy work, but I ask for work at a normal speed. If a average worker normally picks 8 kilos of raspberries in 4 hours, I am not happy when a volunteer picks 2 kilos in 4 hours.

My experience was in whole very pleasing and rewarding. I was glad to contribute to the farm by the work I did with them. Joy and Giuliano are great people and made me feel welcome when I got there. I also had the chance to meet the other volunteers with whom it was a pleasure to work with and to engage in activities together. In whole, it was a great experience for which I am thankful for. Special shoutout to Joy's cooking that was always on point :)

I was supposed to stay 3.5 weeks, ended up leaving after 3 days. A bunch of things that made my experience very poor were circumstantial, but i believe Giuliano could've made more efforts to make it bearable. My room, shower room were filthy upon arrival, i had to clean them myself if i wanted the bare minimum of hygiene. Also the shower is held up by 4 strings and tape.I felt like i was expected to cook and clean and no one helped or ever said thank you. I think if you're with other volunteers, and it's summertime/warmer and his wife is there, it would be absolutely fine and even fun.

For Emily's 3 days of stay was appreciated as she helped a little bit of cooking . No farm help available because its winter still, Berry Farm is close!!! As the first day she arrived, as a volunteer she didn't washed her plate after eating. Since the farm is closed the part of help is house help. Then I Giuliano, alone with three kids and my wife work away, I didn't have enough time to do perfect cleaning. Here as a host I needed a volunteer not a tourist to be served! The dirt that she's speaking was the dust in the room where she stayed, because it was not occupied for the winter! But she could help it clean as a volunteer not to criticize like a tourist! The problem in the shower was the curtain and not the shower....the curtain was destroyed by previous volunteers and we will fix it ...As a volunteer you must be happy to help without expecting too much appreciation! Traveling more will open your mind and heart to understand different cultures and situations in life...

You can find incredible mountainous landscapes in this place! It's an ideal spot for enthusiasts of hiking. The job activities vary based on the season and weather conditions, yet the working hours were honored. It's the ALPS, which means temperatures can be very very very low - so be prepared for cold!! Giuliano and Joy are friendly and treated us like family. Joy's cooking is amazing!! It was a very nice and memorable experience! :)

Cogolo is a beautiful place, the mountains and nature are amazing. It's the perfect place for those who like hiking. The tasks vary according to the season/weather but the working hours were always respected. Giuliano and Joy are very nice and hard-working people. Joy is an amazing cook and made us feel very welcome. It's important to remember that it's the Italian ALPS and it can get very cold - the volunteers sleep in a caravan camper which for many is OK but for others can be a bit harsh even though we had a lot of blankets and a small heater. If you don't mind the cold go for it!!

Since the first day I arrived, everyone was kind, and I was treated like family all the way through. Guilliano is an incredible guide, he knows everything there is to see and do in Trentino, and Joys cooking is better than any restaurant you can find. The work was great, picking vegetables and berries close to nature was refreshing. If you love hiking, nature, or just good people, there is no better place to go
