Volunteering at the hostel was a great experience. The location in Medellin is fantastic. Walking distance from Carrera 70 which is the connecting street near the hostel and is filled with local bars and great resaraunts along with street vendors. It is a small hostel but yet it is very new and kept very clean. Paola and Andres are the hard-working owners of the establishment and da great job making you feel at home whether being a volunteer or guest in which I have the oppotunity to receive their hospitiality on both ends. Highly recomend this hostel as a volunteer or guest.

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel, mostly because of the people (staff and volunteers). The work is easy, mostly during the night, just make sure you are flexible as the schedule might change last minute. Mostly it's late checkins/early checkouts, watching cameras and keeping people quiet (which was maybe the hardest part). They also own a sushi restaurant, which you have to try! The location of this hostel couldn't be more perfect, Laureles is a great area, with lots of bars and restaurants, but also very safe. The stadium and a big sports complex are in walking distance, and so is the metro.

Working at the hostel was in general a good experience. The location is perfect. The staff is really nice and welcoming. We did have some problems with communication, since it took them 2 weeks to actually sit down and talk to me about the work that had to be done. Also, since we are up all night in the reception, we need to sleep during the day, which can be pretty hard since the hostel is very loud all the time, so after 3 weeks, I was really exhausted.
