I had a great time in Lisbon. The other Volunteers truly made this experience great they were wonderful and very welcoming ❤️. I had a good time working with the receptionists, big shoutout to Marcus! The location of the Hostel is excellent and the room was a good size for 8 people. I was on the day shifts so it was 3 days on and 2 1/2 days off as you start working at 5pm on the third day. Some days the work is harder than others, you could have 15 beds to change one day and the next 70 so it varies. It is an average of 25 hrs a week so one week you may be working 30hrs. Overall I had fun!

My experience at the hostel was made so great by the awesome team they have and the wonderful volunteers that I met. I met such a diverse group of people that all made me feel so welcomed and included and I loved working with the staff during my time at the hostel. The receptionists were also super lovely and I'm so grateful to have made so many new friendships. I would recommend that new volunteers be aware that the "3 days off" that is agreed means 72 hours off. So this means that you usually finish at 5pm on your 3rd day, have 2 full days off, and then start again at 5pm on the 3rd day.

As it was my first experience, I wasn't sure what to expect. When I arrived everyone in the team made me feel welcome. The room was nice, you share it with all the other volunteers. The work was mostly good, the check-ins are fun because you get to know the guests and talk to them while you show them to their room. Making the beds could get really exhausting, especially if you have to make a lot of beds. We didn't get the full 3 days of, we got 72 hours of which does make a difference. Overall it was a great time and it was really nice to meet so many new people from all over the world.

This was my first Worldpackers opportunity, so I didn't know what to expect. While not entirely perfect, the volunteers I worked alongside really shaped my experience. I was fortunate enough to be surrounded by absolutely incredible people, and that was the highlight of this entire thing. Ale was amazing and receptive to any questions I had. In terms of workload, the shifts were 4 or 8 hours and scheduling/time off had not been explained in specific detail prior. I think it left volunteers with less time to plan short trips or explore Lisbon than expected.

This was my first time volunteering at a hostel and it was a good experience! The work itself is quite simple and well organised. As a host Izzy is amazing since he really cares about the whole staff and accommodates to everyones needs as best as possible. The days off are enough to get to know Lisbon or travel around Portugal!

I had a super time at UGH! The staff and volunteers are very friendly, and it's easy to make friends. Generally, the work is straightforward and easy enough, dayshifts can sometimes be quite physically tiring, especially as the hostel gets busier with summer. Izzy is a great host, he's very approachable if you have any issues and will always listen and accommodate you as best he can. The staff room was recently moved into a larger dorm, which is amazing but had previously been quite small to fit 8 people. You will have such a special experience if you volunteer here <3

I had a great time at the hostel and met some amazing people! The work is fairly easy and Izzy is very accommodating and understanding. One strong point of this hostel is the hosts communication with the volunteers and weekly meetings that ensures things are running smoothly. One area of improvement would be the room for the volunteers, which is small and because there is no common area it can feel squished. Nevertheless I would recommend this experience!

I had a great time at the hostel I can recommend this place especially for people who are doing world packers for the first time because you are never alone, you are in a group with 7 other volunteers and always have the opportunity to do group things. But not everything is perfect there especially the shared dorm is a mess. The room is to small for 8 people and there is mold at the wall and also is there always an big construction site that can be pretty loud and annoying. But all in all I had an great experience. Thanks for everything 🙏.

Overall, the hostel was a lovely place to work and chill. The staff where very friendly and helpful. When we requested something, the manager was very adaptable and respectful. Communication was good. The only thing that was not ideal was there was no private space to chill for volunteers, we had to be in the common area in the hostel, and when busy became difficult at times. The dorm was also quiet small for 8 people, but we managed with good communication. Overall, a good experience and I would recommend.

I had the best time at the hostel, it was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't have picked a better place to start my journey. As I traveled in off season the work was super chill and only three days a week which left me with plenty of time to explore Lisbon and surrounding areas. My co-volunteer's quickly became my close friends. The room is a little small for 8 people and lacks storage space, it is also very damp and a little dirty. But other than that the staff were all super friendly and has great communication. They listened and acted when we asked for something.
