I had a truly amazing experience at the home place! I learned a lot about gardening, orchardry and all kinds of handyman jobs. the home also gave me and my girlfriend lots of tips on how to build our own furniture for in our van. Colleen is also a lovely woman who knows a ton about making and preserving food. Truly inspiring people who know a lot about self sustainability and having lots of fun.

A truly amazing experience. The house is located about 20 minutes from Kerikeri. You can learn a lot about gardening here. the home is a brilliant mind and Colleen is the best cook in New Zealand. If you are learning English it is the ideal place. It is important to consider that it is a remote place, there is no public transport as in all the towns of New Zealand.

I can't say enough good things about this place. The work is exactly what is agreed upon beforehand, and they are both extremely respectful of your time and ability. It was nothing that I couldn't handle, just some work around the house, and working outside wherever it needed it (raking soil and leaves, pruning, helping to build an espalier structure, etc). But more importantly to me, they were both so kind and caring, and really made me feel like I was a part of their family. They were always so accommodating, and were always happy to chat with me. Thank you both so much:) !

This was a fantastic experience, in a wonderful home, with incredible people. the home Colleen make you feel like part of the family, while also giving you plenty of space and freedom. I learned a lot about gardening and landscaping, and found the work to be both enjoyable and well-rounded. They also have a wealth of knowledge about the local area and life in general, and I feel I got as much if not more out of the exerience than I expected.

The home colleen are hospitable people that make you feel part of their family. Working with colleen in the morning is just as fun and entertaining as working with the home in the afternoon. My experience with my hosts has left me with more than just practical skills.

We're so grateful to have found the home, which we were welcomed into immediately. The work was exactly as described, always manageable, the home wonderful cooking/baking was a fantastic reward at the end of every day. Despite not having our own transport, we never once felt isolated. the home Colleen would go above and beyond to make sure that we had a lift into town if we wanted to go and were even kind enough to take us on trips to see the local sights. It's a testament to them that they have so many previous guests that stay in touch with them and ask to stay again.

I learned so many things that it would be impossible to mention them all. For me it was a complete experience, because, besides the work to be done and all the teachings that were behind each job, I also learned many things about myself and how to be better every day. Even, professionally, the home taught me too many things that I'm sure I'll remember every day. Infinite thanks for every teaching, to Colleen for every delicious meal she cook for us. Thank you for your patience, thank you for allowing me to meet you and thank you for integrating me into your family. I'll miss you all very much.

My fist Worldpackers experience. Grateful experience. The hosts are really good Holders. I enjoyed the delicious the home meals every day and learned about gardening and to much to do in the house work as required with the home; who has absolutely lot of stories to tell you by the way. The description is absolutely true.

We had a beautiful experience the month we stayed with Colleeen the home, they are a lovely couple. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. The food always tasty and homemade prepared by Colleen, she is a really sweet and tender person. The house has incredible views! The work is as described on the website. If you don't know something, they will gladly explain/teach you. Both are always willing to take you to see the surroundings and of course tell you the history of the place. Recommended!

The hosts are the most thoughtful, warm, kind people you will ever meet. They make you feel right at home and part of the family from the start. My room was very comfortable and cozy, and you can tell both the home Colleen are super passionate about their beautiful home and garden. Their instructions for work were always clear and when it came to outdoor tasks like gardening (which I was not as familiar with as the indoor work) the home was super patient and helpful. I always felt accomplished after the 4 hours (never more) of work a day. And Colleen made the most delicious home cooked meals!
