I absolutely loved working here!! The people and the atmosphere were so welcoming and felt like home away from home. I did sign up for this position thinking I would be making pancakes and ended up just housekeeping - for me it was not an issue at all but just something to make others aware of. I one hundred percent recommend this opportunity!!

Thanks for your kind words Sylvia. Yes unfortunately during COVID and then with staff shortages we were forced to make a stop to our pancake breaky. This aspect has been removed from our profile many months ago now so there will be no more confusion for other volunteers. This position was always pancake cook/cleaner and houskeeping and I understand your disappointment about the pancakes, I do hope you next experience includes making pancakes!

I stayed at the hostel for a month, the city and the hostel are wonderful and the experience itself is even more so. The owners Ben and Monsy are lovely people, available for anything and they helped me a lot during my stay at the hostel, putting me at ease. Ben is so friendly so everyone is included! And at the hostel there are also various activities such as pizza night and pool competitions. One of the best things is that you'll know different people from all over the world and it is fantastic to discuss about cultures! I never thought I could feel like home so far from my home, just do it

This hostel and the people in it became like a second home to me. I immediately felt welcome and comfortable and I wish I'd never have to leave. Ben and Monsy also took their time to show us around the hostel and always make sure you're alright and feeling comfortable. It truly is my home away from home! I can't wait to be back and do it all over again, I love and miss these guys heaps!!!

The hostel itself was very homely, I felt comfortable straight away! Everyone that works there was so friendly, with lots of fun evenings playing games with other the hostel. A really great hostel to stay at, I'd highly recommend to anyone passing through the hostel. The area itself has some great beaches and an amazing selection of cafes!
