I really enjoyed my time at the farm. If you don't speak Spanish I advise you to learn a bit beforehand, so you are able to talk to the locals (they are so friendly). The work was what I expected, gardening and taking care of the chickens. You can find true friendship in the other volunteers, since you do everything together from working to exploring the nature. You have to pay for the food but it was worth it, Elmer is a fantastic cook! Clothes will get dirty, things won't dry easily during the rainy season. But the simple living conditions make the place special and a whole adventure.🌿

The farm was an amazing experience. I was there in the rainy season, so the tasks where less hard. I had an incredible time connecting with nature in many different ways. Elmers food is incredible! Even though meat is his speciality, the vegetarian food was delicious. It is a very good option to pay him for the food instead of going to town every day, specially because the river gets pretty high when it rains. I totally recommend you to go there, the place is magical! Also in the next months there will be many things to do, because they have planned renovations and new constructions. 🦎

Mi experiencia en la granja ha sido fantástica a pesar de haber estado en estación de lluvias, volveré seguro en verano. Elmer y Emilio son muy buenos anfitriones. Ha sido toda una experiencia estar en la jungla, los baños en el río, los animales salvajes, las comidas al fuego de leña que prepara Elmer muy sabrosas y a buen precio. Recomiendo esta experiencia a todo viajero de verdad.

This was my first experience with Worldpackers and it couldn't be better. The work is sometimes mor physical but it's really nice to work in the nature with a lot of wildlife. Elmer cook's the best food you will get in Costa Rica with a lot of natural products from the farm. The activity's you can do around the farm are near endless from night tours over waterfalls to beaches everything is included.

Una experiencia totalmente diferente, prepárate para una inmersión en contacto con la naturaleza cara a cara. La comida cocinada al fuego hecha por Elmer es una experiencia única, súper deliciosa. Todo el espacio que lo rodea es impresionante, siento un enorme agradecimiento por el lugar y por la familia que me acogió tan bien ;)

Fueron dos semanas muy agradables en la selva. Elmer, nuestro anfitrión, estuvo ahí para cada uno y nos alimento muy, MUY bien. Las labores a realizar son sencillas y van variando: desde alimentar y limpiar a los animales, hasta sembrar diferentes productos o cocinar al fuego de leña. Se respira paz en Río la granja. Si eres muy fresa, tal vez no sea tu lugar. Si te desenvuelves bien en redes sociales o edición de vídeos y fotos, a ellos les vendría muy bien.

Hermosa experiencia, se aprende mucho y se vive realmente en la naturaleza. Elmer es una persona muy comprometida y muy servicial, se la pasa cocinando para todos excelentes comidas locales desde la voluntad propia sin tener porque hacerlo. Una partecita de mi queda en la finca y con la ilusión de volver algún día y ver el progreso de este lindo proyecto. Super recomendado!

Mi experiencia en Río la granja fue maravillosa, la gente local te hace sentir como en casa, trabajamos juntos, comemos juntos y compartimos muchas risas. Aunque el trabajo es arduo, más que todo por el calor, y son estrictos con el cumplimiento de horas, el resto del día te queda a libre disposición para ir a pasear y conocer. Si se organizan comerán deliciosa comida y los mismos ticos les podrían cocinar, amé demasiado este voluntariado y lo recomiendo al 100%, es por lejos el mejor que hay en Drake. Maravilloso para reconectar con la naturaleza y personas de todo el mundo.

The farm Farms(Finca) was exactly what I needed. it was a place to be of service, and receive peace and contentment. The work mostly consisted of taking care of chickens, and clearing pathways through the jungle. Emilio, and Elmer are two brothers who are trying to create a sustainable living from the land. At the same time they provide guidance and understanding. The facilities could use an update, but are very adequate for living in the jungle. Solar, Wi-Fi, and Laundry are available. It is a great place to meet people from all over the world. Come prepared to work, and find peace.
