The experience at the hostel was fine until they changed the management of the volunteers. The work is hard but the volunteer team is very friendly and willing to help. It was not a volunteer experience, the hostel is looking for people to work in exchange for bed and food, there is no space for socializing and the hotel management even demands that we do not have breakfast together with the guests so as not to get in the way. I left before the agreed period because during my stay some rules changed and despite trying to have a dialogue, it was not well accepted. I do not recommend!

The hostel was a great experience for meeting new friends internationally! However, I would say that most of your welcome & 99% of training is done by the other volunteers. All volunteers were super friendly and grateful to have made so many new friends! But I wish that the Hostel staff and owners were more welcoming and involved with the volunteers. I was also not expecting for almost the entire hostel to be run by volunteers (except for reception) so it was a lot of responsibility. If you are alright with working quite hard to meet international friends I would recommend!

Aarhus is abeautiful the hostel that gives you all the great opportunities. I met some amazing people and loved that the hostel was right in the middle of everything. The staff was super friendly and always open for a chat :) Nevertheless there are some points to be improved: -The volunteers are in charge of nearly all the cleaning without being suffiently trained -We were not allowed to sit inside the room where breakfast was served -Only lunch is served. The volunteers were in charge of the dinner -I, personally, would have appreciated more recognition of our work by the top manager!

Great experience overall. the hostel is very charming, and other international volunteers will welcome you creating a very friendly ambiance. Just about the work: you will only be doing housekeeping and cleaning (bartending and cooking aren't a position for volunteers) Another thing to be aware of: there are mostly no paid workers, so volunteers are in absolute responsibility for the cleaning and housekeeping.

Good experience overall. Things to know before going to dan hostel: bartending is not a position , for reception they all ready have staff from denmark (very cool people) so it's not really an option either, the same with the cooking, so basically you'll be doing housekeeping. The staff is very nice, but sometimes there's a LOT of work and the volunteers are not enough but they don't hire people to do that job so you might have to work more, they expect from you to da great job even if you have no experience. Apart from that, i've met amazing people and learned a lot a long the way.

Good experience overall. Sometimes theres no meals but you can always use the kitchen and food to cook yourself. The ceiling in the volunteers room is not in good shape. That said, theres way more positives than negatives about this experience. The staff is amazing and will welcome you like part of the family. The work time is respected and the hostel is right in the center of everything :)

It was my first worldpackers experience and i really liked it! The work can be exhausting because it's mostly cleaning and sometimes it takes longer than 5 hours to finish your tasks. But nothing is really complicated and you still have a lot of free time to relax and explore the hostel. I could meet a lot of great people from all around the world which was very nice!:)

The Hostel team was very welcoming and made us feel like home. We truly enjoyed our stay. In regards to work and time, we did exactly what was described by the host. Although most of the tasks would take more time than we had to make them, which made us work overtime. But the good side is that the team was excellent, so if you have good communication you can talk to them about the extra hours you have done and they can compensate those hours on your next shift. Even give you and extra day off depending on how many extra hours you've worked. I'd definitely recommend the hostel.

The amount of work to be done is fair and the hostel functionality depends quite a lot on the volunteers. Though the hostel staff is lovely and we truly felt like a home during our stay. We'd sure recommend the hostel!

Overall Aarhus is a wonderful place and even the Hostel itself was cool. I just felt that along with the host and the volunteers there's more of a private party going on having me felt left out for I don't know what reason but seemed common background related. Denmark is a beautiful country with the most loveliest people in the world so a foreigner like myself just like the host and volunteers should blend in like how the Danes make us feel in their lovely country where I've lived since 2012. Also when it was agreed for me to volunteer for at least three weeks but suddenly they made it a week.
