Great experience at the hostel but be aware that the house where you stay is bad (problems with electricity, gas, no living-room/couches, in a bad state) and that the owners don't welcome you. Actually, we didn't see them in our entire stay. However, some people from the staff was very kind and our tasks are easy. the hostel is a huge hostel so you can meet a lot of people there and the food is amazing ! (we tried to communicate with Daniel but he didn't respond)

The hostel is a fun environment and a large hostel. You will definitely meet a lot of travelers and make friends. San Cristóbal is an amazing location 100% worth traveling to. That being said, I found that the volunteers where put at the lowest level of priority because they come and go so often. Volunteer house is in need a maintenance and no fresh water was provided there. I would not recommend this place to pairs traveling together. My partner and I had exact opposite schedules leaving us with very little free time together which defeats the purpose of traveling together in my opinion.

San Cristobol is an amazing location and the hostel is a fun and lively environment. That being said, they are such a big hostel that so many volunteers come in and out so often that I felt as if we where pushed to the back burner and the least priority. The volunteer house is in need of maintenance, volunteers have to eat dinner last and late when food is cold and there are no condiments left, .. ect. I also would not recommend this location to pairs or couples because my partner and I were put on exact opposite schedules which was easily avoidable considering we were the only pair there.

El staff es muy simpático y amable. Nos recibieron muy bien y siempre había buen ambiente. Aunque me encantaría darle 5 estrellas, justo la semana que estuvimos había muy pocos voluntarios, por lo que el trabajo que normalmente se hacía entre 2 personas, lo hacía una sola. Además, como fui con mi novio esperábamos tener horarios parecidos para poder hacer excursiones y visitar los alrededores, y como no fue así nos costó bastante organizarnos. De todas maneras, recomiendo este voluntariado porque el lugar es precioso y realmente conoces gente muy buena, tanto locales como otros viajeros!! :)

Primera experiencia en worldpackers y muy contento!! El staff está lleno de buena gente y el hostel es un sitio precioso y lleno de vida y personas interesantes. Otros puntos fuertes a favor: bar barato y animado, el lobby es un sitio súper cómodo para pasar una tarde lluviosa y -sobre todo- la comida!!!. El voluntariado incluye desayuno y cena, ambos con opciones y de una calidad realmente impresionante (gracias Flaco y a todo el resto del equipo). Me da rabia quitar una estrella, pero los horarios nocturnos hacen que sea muy complicado aprovechar al día siguiente (día de fiesta).

Trabajar en el hostel ha sido una experiencia en general positiva. Sin duda lo mejor son las personas que trabajan allí, simpáticas y empaticas. Como voluntario tienes muchas ventajas que el hotel ofrece y San Cristóbal de las casas es un lugar maravilloso. Lo único que podría decir negativo es que no hay lugares tranquilo para estar solo, siempre estarás rodeado de gente. Para alguien que es muy sociable puede ser un punto a favor, pero si eres introvertido, la situación puede angustiarte. Por otro lado los horarios varían por lo que si vais dos es difícil tener el mismo tiempo libre.

I had a great time in the hostel but the tasks I had to do at the end were not the one's I was applying to which was not really fair to me at the beginning but still ok. I can still recommend this Host!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel. They take good care of the volunteers. We got a separate house where we all slept together. The working hours are good and there is always room to talk about things and switch shifts. The only shift that is a bit long is the nightshift, but that get compensated with free days. The working staff and volunteers was i nice group of people that definitely made my stay very nice. Thanks the hostel!

El Hostal está recibiendo todos los días viajeros de todas partes del mundo por lo que tendras que poner en práctica tu inglés, las actividades a realizar y los días libres se asignan los domingos, para voluntarios hay turno por la mañana, tarde y noche en recepción puede que te toque ayuda en desayuno y camas o en la cena y encargarte de la cocina, el bar es otra opción. Siempre puedes estar en el hostal pero tienes una cama en habitación compartida en una casa a unas cuadras del hostal. A los días las actividades se vuelven más sencillas (nunca son complejas), siempre hay ayuda.

Estoy seguro que el hostel es el mejor hostal de San Cristóbal, tiene la ubicación perfecto, seas huésped o voluntario tienes desayuno y cena incluidos así, cómo bebidas y fiesta gratis, el ambiente en el hostal es de diversión, prácticas mucho tu inglés y conoces muchas personas, tus actividades son rotativas y aprendes de todo un poco, es cierto que tiene que mejorar mucho la casa de voluntarios que por estar aparte del hostal no tiene atención, los voluntarios de una semana no ayudan a limpiar y si a ensuciarla, todo sería increíble si cuidarán ese casa como. hostal.
