Foi de quebrar o coração deixar um lugar como este. Nesse país eu estava sempre cercado por pessoas muito educadas. A senhora Irene e Arianna me trataram como membro da família. Me senti em casa. Saí do meu país cansado de minha rotina e com muito problemas resolvidos, lá eu esqueci que um dia tive eles; foram todos lavados nas chuvas escocesas. Há marcas em seu corpo que um dia desaparecerão, mas há marcas que são causadas em sua alma que são tão profundas que sempre serão sentidas. A atmosfera desse lugar marcou minha alma com coisas boas e para sempre serei grato e eu nunca esquecerei.

I had such a lovely experience at the host! When I went, the work was very easy and enjoyable – just walking the dogs in the morning and afternoon, and helping a little with keeping the house tidy. The rest of the time was free to relax, explore the beautiful woods and nature around Dalavich, or enjoy Irene's wonderful cooking. I always felt so welcome, and I will never forget the whole the host family: Irene, Chris, Himash, Malky, Ned, Nala, and Smoky. They all made my stay truly special! I'm so grateful for my time here and would highly recommend it to anyone!

I just have to thank Irene for accepting me into her home. I really enjoyed the time I spent in Dalavich, it's a beautiful and peaceful place. The forest is wonderful, there's a lot of tranquility there... But what was hardest for me to leave was Himash and Malky... 🖤🤎🥹 I'll never forget what Christopher did for me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything... 💚

I loved my time at Irene's place. I always felt comfortable, was able to spend time in nature and with the dogs and could keep busy by helping out around the house. It's a great way to disconnect, eat delicious food and meet some of the nicest, friendliest locals you'll ever encounter. Thank you so much Irene! I already miss the dogs, the nature and most of all the people

I had a good time in the host Cottage. It was basically feeding the dogs (which are adorable! I'll miss them) and taking them for a walk twice a day and doing some housework. The rest of the time is for yourself. They were quite considerate with me being a vegetarian and their cooking was delicious. Unfortunately to me, they smoke inside of the house so I would've preferred to know that beforehand. The place is quite remote so if you love nature and you don't have any problem with the smoke, I would recommend it. Thank you Irene and Chris for having me and especially Ned, Maulkie and Hamish

I enjoyed this volunteer work; the work is light and easy. Basically, we have to walk the dogs, feed them, and keep the house clean. But it's worth noting that I didn't have any days off, and the people in the house are smokers. That didn't bother me, but it would have been good to know beforehand. Irene is a great cook, and the Scottish dinners were the best; the pets are adorable.

Most days the work is easy and light. It is only a little harder if there are the lodge to clean. I loved the calm and beauty of the place, and the way they welcomed me and made me feel at home. And I am simply in love with the dogs. I recommend it to anyone who wants a calm place close to nature. I will miss the place, the people and definitely the incredible and loving Heimi and Malkie.

The experience was very good, it was my first time in the United Kingdom. The area where this volunteering is located is beautiful, it has incredible landscapes. Mrs. Irene and Cris were always very kind, their house is very nice and the room for the volunteers is excellent. It was good to help them with simple cleaning and gardening tasks, taking two dogs for a walk that are very adorable. Together with her granddaughter Loren, she cleans the lodge during the week. She is a person with a very good attitude and is very funny. On our days off we go for walks in the lodge or swim in the river.

I loved the experience! Irene is a great host. She is respectful, kind and friendly. We also spent time with Cris and Lauren, they care about your stay and your activities in the lodge. The best thing about volunteering is absolutely the dogs. Himi and Mockie are really sweet. They are always looking for you to accompany you and spend time with you. The house is in the middle of nature, has amazing nature trails and is very close to the river. It is perfect to disconnect and spend some quiet time.
