Foi minha primeira experiência e posso dizer que foi ótima. Tim e Kate são pessoas maravilhosas e muito receptivas, e me deixaram muito a vontade durante o mês que passei no hostel. As tarefas são simples e quase sempre terminava antes do tempo. Os anfitriões estavam sempre em contato e sempre nos ajudavam e perguntavam se precisava de algo. O hostel é de fácil acesso e bom para passear pela cidade. Adorei período que passei em Liverpool e com certeza guardarei como uma ótima experiência.

Fui bem recebida, mas pra ser sincera, me inscrevi na vaga pensando que seria algo mais sociável como nas fotos, mas é bem diferente. São apenas 2 voluntários por vez, o hostel basicamente não tem guests e mesmo assim os voluntários são constantemente cobrados para conseguir reviews mas não tem como, pois o hostel tem um sistema de self check-in, então basicamente não se tem contato com os guests. O host dizia sempre que expulsava voluntários o tempo todo e isso me deixava ansiosa. Precisei sair mais cedo pois tive uma oportunidade de emprego e o host aparentemente recebeu bem.

Vá se quiser ser tratado como um funcionário. 1° a enganação: as fotos são de anos atrás, o hostel tem outra vibe hoje, tu acredita que vai ser algo sociável, mas o hostel não tem hóspedes, os poucos fazem self check-in e o turno é passar 6 horas sentado caso alguém apareça. O dono reclamou pois eu ficava no sofá, que eu tinha que ficar na cadeira de plástico, mesmo eu dizendo que ficava desconfortável lá. Ele tem histórico de expulsar voluntários, justamente por nos ver como empregados. Você vai ter o mínimo do mínimo nessa experiência. Saí antes do combinado e não recomendo.

É uma coisa surreal o que acontece nesse hostel, em especial no que se trata do dono e host, um homem de meia-idade que não é a pessoa listada aqui. Durante a minha estadia ele se mostrou diversas vezes um homem completamente incapaz de comunicar e instruir o staff, totalmente averso a qualquer tipo de critica, e indisponível a qualquer tipo de conversa honesta com os helpers. Eu também presenciei diversas vezes ele fazendo acusações seríssimas sem qualquer tipo de justificação, prova, ou motivo alem de mentiras descaradas sobre voluntários e hóspedes. Mais info na DM!

We learnt Ricardo came with the intention of doing as little as possible.
He surely liked the free breakfast and chocolate chip breads in the morning, in no time fell in love with our coffee machine ☕️☕️☕️

Our experience with Ricardo was dreadful, he alienated other helpers within the work, had to prompt him to get out of bed and remind to contribute, the cleaning task proved difficult and other helpers had do this after him. We cut his stay short because this arrangement proved all one sided, He seen us as a transit vehicle for a free feet up holiday.

We’d urge any future applicants to message any previous volunteers and ask how they found staying with us.

I really enjoyed my experience here. I have been here for a month and with this being my third time volunteering at a hostel, I really did enjoy this experience. Please note that the manager and owner do operate in a bit more of a hands off manner, this means it would be more suitable for a volunteer who is proactive and has less need for supervision. They give support where needed but the more self sufficient you are, the more you will thrive volunteering here. Both the owner and the manager are really nice. I hope to collaborate again with them in the future.

It was my first volunteering. It was a great experience for me and I learned a lot. The environment was very comfortable, the tasks were of a medium level but could be done in the requested time per day. The host and the staff were super attentive and always cared about my well-being, nothing was ever missing. I highly recommend volunteering with them and I will definitely come back one day.

Had an absolute ball thoroughly being here. I was attending a college course for nine months and Liverpool, staying here helped me out a lot. Enjoyed myself and tasks are simple, with a lot of time to enjoy the city. Made a lot of life time friends in Liverpool. My experience was positive and you learnt a lot. And Liverpool is a wonderful city and it's very close to my heart. Tysm 💕

This is my second time at the hostel, and it has been absolutely wonderful. The tasks are easy and the shifts are always respected. The hostel is cozy and welcoming, it really feels like a home away from home. Tim and Kate are amazing hosts, always looking out for your well-being and making sure everyone feels comfortable. Liverpool is such a lovely and charming city, full of history, music, and friendly people. I'm so grateful for the chance to come back to this hostel and I really hope I can return soon!

Very welcoming hostel, with sociable and polite people. The work is pleasant and not too hard. I highly recommend it :)
