I had an amazing stay at the lodge. Felt at home immediately and had a hard time leaving again (but coming back soon haha :D ) The work is a lot of fun and just sometimes busy and a bit stressful (nothing you could not handle -> a bit experience in customer service definitely helps). The place itself is stunning, I loved how close the river and how beautiful the surrounding is. Oh, and the dogs are always up for an adventure haha. Sending out a lot of love to John, Antonio and Pia & the rest of the team. See you soon! :)

Really enjoyed my stay at the lodge, the work is straightforward and the team is lovely. It's a great opportunity to engage with nature and relax. We met some lifelong friends from around the world and hope to come back!! Hours were longer than advertised when I applied but apart from that, loved every moment :)

We both had the most amazing 6 weeks at the lodge, we were both welcomed into the family with open arms and were hesitant to leave when the time came. Pia and John have created a lovely relaxing hotel filled with characters from all over the world. We felt like we were at home and can't wait to come back

I volunteered 4 weeks at the lodge and it was such a great experience! The team was just amazing (I already miss them so much!), the food was so delicious (perfect if you are a vegetarian or vegan), and the place was just magical. If you love nature and are not afraid of spiders haha, then you will love this place! A big thanks again to Pia, Tonno & Franzi (the managers) who made me feel so welcome at the lodge! <3 Don't hesitate to contact them if you are an animal and nature lover and want to have a unique volunteer experience. You will have an awesome time! ;)

Had a great time at the lodge, all the staff and volunteers really are great which makes for a very good experience. It's a great place to relax and get away from the hectic nature of travelling or working. The work itself is straightforward so as long as you like talking to new people everyday and making sure everyone is feeling okay it's the right place for you. The food is very good - even if you are non veggie you shouldn't miss meat too much.

Magda was a great volunteer and we very much enjoyed having her here with us. She was great with the guests and always had a positive vibe and smile. She also helped us with other parts of the business. It was a pleasure to meet her and we are happy to welcome her again in the future.
We would highly recommend her .

The lodge was a great experience as my first work away. the other volunteers that I met really helped with that, the lovely kitchen ladies, ANTONIO and moshy!!! the work is super easy and chill especially if you have a customer service background. I wish the hours weren't as long as they were, they could've been a little more honest about that and exactly how secluded it is. I did expect to explore a little more but if you're looking for a chill spot to relax and get work done, the lodge is perfect for you. the owners were both welcoming

The lodge is a unique experience that's everyone should experience once. From the food to them full-time staff, the outdoor activities, down to the sense of community. Basically, if you love nature, you'll really enjoy the hostel.

I had the opportunity to volunteer at the lodge for three months. My overall experience was amazing. The scenery and nature are breathtaking and the river that changes every day is just steps away. Pia and John are great. They are super friendly and accommodating, by the end of my stay I really felt like family and was sad to go. The rest of the full-time staff there are a ton of fun and really nice. I would highly recommend the lodge for anyone who is looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle that life can bring and would like a new jungle experience. I hope to be back again one day!

I volunteered in the lodge for 6 weeks and had an amazing time. The natural scene with all it's beauty, waking up to birdsongs every day, the health focused lifestyle that a volunteer can live there, the beautiful river, the easygoing management and staff are all making your stay an unforgettable experience and of course the delicious veggie food that they spoil you with :) last but not at least the close proximity to Semuc and the lovely Mayan community makes your the lodge stay full and makes sure that want to return one day. Thank you Pia and John for an awesome jungle experience :D
