Join Wanderframe at Mangrove Ecotourism Bagek Kembar as a visual storyteller, not just an observer. This program invites volunteers with a passion for video documentary and photography to help amplify local initiatives through thoughtful, ethical storytelling.

Your role is to document birdlife through birdwatching and cataloging, capture the rhythms of the mangrove ecosystem, and record the daily efforts of the community protecting it. These visuals are not created for promotion alone—they become long-term narratives that support conservation, ethical ecotourism, and community-led advocacy.

By sharing your work through your own networks, you help ensure that local voices, environmental efforts, and cultural knowledge reach a wider audience. This is about slowing down, listening, and using your lens to amplify what already exists, responsibly and with respect.

Here, storytelling is impact. Your camera becomes a bridge between the mangrove, its people, and the world beyond.

Atividades & Turnos

Core Activities

Produce short video documentaries highlighting local conservation initiatives and community voices
Conduct simple, respectful interviews with community members (with informed consent)
Film and catalog mangrove bird species, nests, and behaviors
Capture cinematic footage of mangrove landscapes, forest trails, and daily activities
Edit photo and video content for long-term storytelling and outreach use
Support bird monitoring through basic data collection and citizen science
Join briefings and debriefs on ethical storytelling, wildlife observation, and consent

Daily Flow

Morning (06:00–10:00)

Film bird activity, wildlife behavior, and mangrove scenery in optimal light
Conduct field documentation and species observation

Midday (10:00–14:00)

Rest, backup footage, rough cuts, and light editing
Optional interview sessions, workshops, or cataloging support

Afternoon (14:00–17:30)

Film community activities, conservation work, and human-interest stories
Golden-hour filming and continuation of interviews or observations

Notes

Schedules may adjust due to weather or community activities
Volunteers work independently or in small teams
No night filming required
Ethical consent, environmental protection, and cultural respect are mandatory

Respect the Community
Always ask for consent before photographing people or private spaces. Locals are partners, not subjects.

Follow Ethical Observation & Photography Guidelines
Do not disturb birds, nests, or mangrove habitats. Avoid staged scenes or misrepresentation.

Use Your Own Equipment Responsibly
Bring and manage your camera gear safely, especially around water and wildlife.

Protect Mangrove Ecosystem & Wildlife
Do not damage plants, disturb wildlife, or leave litter. Stay on marked trails.

Safety Comes First
Follow instructions from local guides, particularly near water, slippery areas, or dense mangroves.

Respect Cultural Norms
Dress appropriately and follow local customs at all times.

Image & Data Usage Agreement
Photos and bird observations will be shared with the community and Wanderframe for non-commercial use. Volunteers retain credit.

Professional Conduct
Be punctual, communicate clearly, and treat fellow volunteers, staff, and locals with respect.

No Alcohol or Substance Use During Activities
Volunteers must remain fully aware and responsible during all fieldwork.

Follow Local Coordination
Final decisions in the field are made by local facilitators and Wanderframe coordinators.
