The experience

Make a dual impact by combining sea turtle conservation with education outreach in marginalized communities. Care for rescued turtles, cleaning tanks, feeding, and rehabilitation. while teaching environmental lessons at under-resourced schools. Create engaging content, promote our mission on social media, and help save endangered marine life while inspiring future conservationists.


What you offer

12 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 50 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: The fee helps us provide a well organized, safe, and enriching program while supporting the community and projects travelers help bring to life. Your contribution directly funds turtle care, conservation equipment, facility maintenance, program coordination, and community development initiatives that create lasting impact.


What you get

3 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Program Details

Locations: Galle (Turtle Conservation) & Wattala (Marginalized Schools)

Join us as a Content Creator and Social Media Promoter while immersing yourself in turtle conservation and community education across two Sri Lankan locations. Capture compelling stories, create engaging content, and amplify our mission while participating in meaningful hands-on work.
Your Role:
Document daily turtle rehabilitation in coastal Galle and educational outreach in Wattala schools. Create content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok that inspires international volunteers and raises awareness about marine conservation and educational equity.

What You'll Do:
Turtle Conservation in Galle:

Assist with daily turtle care: cleaning tanks, feeding, and monitoring rehabilitation
Capture behind-the-scenes content of rescue operations and releases
Film feeding routines, medical treatments, and conservation activities
Document beach patrols and hatchling releases
Create educational reels showcasing sea turtle protection

Education Outreach in Wattala:

Document teaching sessions and student engagement
Capture authentic classroom moments and learning experiences
Showcase the impact of environmental education in under-resourced communities
Interview students and teachers about conservation and their aspirations
Produce content highlighting community needs and successes

Content & Social Media Responsibilities:

Create and schedule daily posts, stories, and reels across platforms
Write compelling captions that educate and inspire action
Respond to comments, messages, and volunteer inquiries professionally
Grow social media audience through strategic engagement
Monitor analytics and optimize content performance
Promote volunteer programs and conservation initiatives


Activities & Shift

Work just 4 days weekly (8-11am, 12 hours total) in schools and community programs, with 3 days off for sightseeing and leisure. Enjoy home-cooked meals at 7am, 12:30pm, and 7pm. Experience cultural immersion with local families, weekly city tours on Mondays, and time to explore Sri Lanka. Full support provided.
