I had a great time staying at the lodge, Kelly the host was always kind and attentive that I have treks to do, or activities during my free time, overall that I have a good experience while staying there. You have plenty of vegetables and food that you can use to prepare your meals, and Kelly is always making sure that you have a healthy recipe to cook. Regarding to the work, it's pretty decent considering the amount of tasks and how busy the bar/restaurant can get, so you have to be ready to face unexpected situations, which can be a good challenge to use your skills and develop new ones.

The lodge is a beautiful place to be! I worked mostly in the kitchen, but each shift looked very different depending on what Kelly needed help with. This strengthened my adaptability, as some days felt very spontaneous and I did not know what to expect. On my days off, Kelly was great about giving me recommendations or setting me up with day treks. I enjoyed going to the market with her and getting to know Caraz better. The food is yummy and the rest of the staff welcomed me like family. Thank you for having me <3

Alayna was great and as she said, adaptable. It has been a difficult season for us as one of the main partners is absent due to health reasons, and our chef was not as committed as promised when we began the season. This made it very difficult to plan and create solid shifts and responsibilities. Alayna was there, and I am tremendously grateful for that. Anyone would be lucky to have her.

A cozy place that offers you a unique perspective on culture, relationships, well-being, and healthy food. Mariam is a very friendly, cheerful, and flexible person, which makes you feel at home. The space has an excellent structure that allows you to be immersed in both local and international cultures, thanks to the cultural diversity of its owners (Venezuela and the USA), each with their own story and determination to create and maintain a pleasant atmosphere for everyone who arrives. My experience in the lodge was just amazing. Kelly and Mariam take super good care of you and of this beautiful place! You feel at home and helping them as much as you can comes naturally to thanks them for everything they do. The work there is just a pleasure. You are in a beautiful environnement in this house surrounding by the mountains of the Cordillera blanca which you can easily explore in your free time.

Volunteering at Inti Rumi Inn was unforgettable. The location is stunning, with beautiful mountain views. The food is delicious, and there's great flexibility to experiment in the kitchen. The people are incredibly welcoming—when I wasn't feeling well, they took care of me like family. Mariam and Kelly, the owners, bring unique energy, adding a lively dynamic. The atmosphere is spontaneous, but that creates a sense of freedom to explore different tasks. If you're adaptable, every day feels fresh and full of opportunities.

Highly recommend this volunteering experience! Mariam is truly the best host we could have wished for. She cares to ensure the volunteers have a great experience, she gave plenty of recommendations for places to see, hikes etc. She helped us organize a lot of stuff. I really enjoyed being based in Caraz as it is closer to many lagunas (e.g. Laguna 69) and hike starting points like the Santa Cruz Trek. Mariam is an amazing cook, we got to enjoy delicious food, there's plenty of veggie options too. The work was more than fair and I would come back in a heartbeat! Thank you for everything Mari.

All in all, the lodge is a very nice place. However, my time was ruined because one of the managers was constantly disrespectful. She would yell at the volunteers, request that we work far more than the committed hours, and always be looking over our shoulders to critique. Luckily, the main manager, Mariam, was incredibly sweet and understanding. Otherwise, the property and all other aspects are great.

El alojamiento es un lugar precioso, rodeado de naturaleza, montañas que se sienten muy cercanas y con un río perfecto para refrescarse. Desde el primer día nos sentimos muy cómodos y en paz. La anfitriona fue súper amable y siempre abierta a nuestras ideas. Las tareas fueron variadas y cocinar con ingredientes frescos de la huerta fue una experiencia hermosa. Recomendamos el alojamiento sin duda. Un lugar auténtico, tranquilo y lleno de buena energía.
