Winter work and "hygge" on a small Danish island.

The experience

Winter on our organic farm is governed by the rhythms of nature. Cold, starry nights and perhaps the chance to see the Northern Lights.
During the day, we'll be busy pruning the vines and fruit trees. We'll also be preparing our market garden, felling trees and processing them into firewood.
Winter is traditionally also the time for repairs around the house and garden. Practical skills would be a great asset.

Program Details

Up in the far north, winter days are short. Therefore, work rarely begins before 9 a.m. Depending on the weather, we'll spend time in the vineyard, the orchard, or the vegetable garden. No two days are the same, and the tasks are interesting and varied. Passing on knowledge is important to us in order to preserve the value of nature. All tasks are explained in detail and carried out efficiently.

Activities & Shift

Shift Details:
Work Hours: 25 hours per week
Days Off: 2 days off to relax and explore the island
Tasks:
Preparing the soil in the vegetable garden,
Cutting / pruning the vines and fruit trees,
Felling small trees,
Assisting with composting and soil improvement,
Helping in the vine cellar.

In principle, working hours will take place in the morning between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., so that the afternoons and evenings are free. Depending on the weather and season, you should be flexible. We expect a high level of self-motivation and interest in agricultural work on an organic farm. Be aware that work can be not only inspiring and satisfying, but also demanding at times.
