Empower Refugee Youth Through Education in Uganda
The experience
Join us in supporting LGBTQ+ refugees and survivors of sexual trafficking from across East & Central Africa. Help youth build skills for dignity and independence by teaching English, basic computer science, or financial literacy. Your knowledge can open pathways to safety, education, and opportunity.
You will be hosted for free near the camp, motorcycles taxis are available for transportation (1$ per trip).

What you offer
18 hours of help per week
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.
What you get
2 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Language lessons:
Take free language classes at our place.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate English or Beginner French
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Activities & Shift
Support refugees and staff by sharing practical skills that strengthen independence and long-term opportunities. Activities may include tutoring youth in English, digital literacy, or financial education, and helping staff build tools for budgeting, program management, or community outreach.
