Staying at Batu Ridi jungle was truly a great way to immerse myself in nature and live like a local. You will find no better way to push yourself out of your comfort zone, but if you can do it you will find it transformative. Expect very limited amenities such as a manual toilet and sleeping on a thin mattress in a tent, but surrounded by beautiful jungle and river views. I highly recommend going jungle trekking with Romi, as he is very knowledgeable and fun to adventure with! the farm here is a must for anyone seeking adventure, widlife, and authentic experiences.

The farm at Batu Ridi near Bukit Lawang was an amazing experience. I helped build bamboo bungalows—laying cement, making doors and windows. Romi, the host, was super friendly, funny, and made everyone feel welcome. We stayed in tents with foam mats and shared delicious (enak!) meals made from fresh market ingredients. The vibe was chill, the location stunning, and we even went catfishing one night! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to help in an active way, relax, and maybe spot orangutans in the jungle on a trek. Remember to pack a book and some mosquito repellent!

I had a wonderful experience at Batu Ridi ! Romi and his wife are so nice and friendly ! i really loved cooking with them, talking with them and get to know more about their culture their house is located very far from everything, so if you wanna rest in the nature, you are in the good place ! Romi's project is amazing, i really enjoyed to contribute to the building of the tiny houses, and see how fast it goes i would definitely recommend this experience if you want to reconnect with nature and yourself, you have plenty of free time, and can meet a lot of other volunteers as well !

I had a wonderful time with Romi! His land is beautiful and the entire experience was enjoyable. the farm at Batu Ridi really allows you to understand local life and appreciate the peace of the jungle. I wish I could have stayed longer!

I had a brilliant time staying with Romi. I was mostly helping with the social media/internet side of things, helping him start to get his business set up online. Romi lives right on the edge of the jungle, so if you're looking for the chance to switch off and fully immerse yourself in nature, and you're up for a bit of an adventure then this will be a wonderful experience! It was a great opportunity to meet other local people and spend time in the village of Bukit Lawang, as well as go on a jungle trek to see Orangutans and other amazing animals!

I had a very nice stay with the farm and his family! A very special experience to live so isolated in the jungle. I would recommend it to anyone if you are looking for peace and quiet.
