Help Promote Two Nature Retreats near Lake Victoria
The experience
We manage two eco-homestays — The Green Village Villa & Lulongo Lake View Retreat — on a peaceful peninsula 240m from Lake Victoria, Uganda. These comfortable accommodations are being gradually transformed into eco-retreats. We seek a creative volunteer to promote our eco-initiatives, improve our online presence, and share the unique experiences of Lulongo with travelers worldwide.
What you offer

Content Writer:
Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Program Details
The volunteer program at The Green Village Villa and Lulongo Lake View Retreat, two eco-homestays on a peaceful peninsula 240 meters from Lake Victoria, Uganda, offers participants the opportunity to support the growth of sustainable, community-focused homestays. Volunteers gain hands-on experience in eco-tourism, online promotion, and cultural engagement while helping the homestays develop step by step.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers may assist with:
1. Digital Promotion & Content Creation: photographing and filming the homestays, lake, and surrounding community; creating social media posts; helping update Airbnb or Homestay listings.
2. Marketing & Online Presence: improving visibility on Airbnb, Homestay, and other platforms; suggesting ways to highlight eco-initiatives and experiences.
3. Guest Experience Support: helping design activities such as canoe trips, nature walks, and cultural exchanges.
4. Community Engagement: respectfully interacting with local communities and promoting local crafts or traditions.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers work 25 hours/week, Monday–Friday, supporting two eco-homestays near Lake Victoria. Daily tasks include creating photos/videos, posting on social media, updating Airbnb/Homestay listings, and assisting with eco-activities like canoe trips, nature walks, or cultural visits. Volunteers also engage with local communities, support sustainability projects, and help improve guest experiences, with flexible shifts in mornings and afternoons.
Rules
1. We warmly request that volunteers keep their accommodations and shared spaces tidy and well-organized to ensure a comfortable environment for everyone.
2. Kindly avoid smoking indoors and refrain from using any illegal substances on the property.
3. We appreciate volunteers who handle homestay property, equipment, and materials with care.
4. For everyone’s well-being, we ask that volunteers follow safety guidelines during all activities and excursions.
5. We encourage volunteers to adopt eco-friendly practices, such as minimizing waste, reducing electricity consumption, and conserving water, to help protect our surroundings.
