The experience

We’re looking for a creative content lover to help us capture the real vibe of Maka Hostel! If you love filming Reels/TikToks, spotting trends, and turning everyday moments into fun viral content — this is for you.

You’ll work closely with our marketing manager (9+ years of experience), so you’ll get solid support, guidance, and ideas… but you’ll also have full creative freedom to experiment and bring your vision to life.

What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.

Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Fluent English or Beginner Spanish

Between 18 and 35 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

This program is for creative travelers who love making content and want to help share the spirit of Maka Hostel with the world. You’ll create Reels, TikToks, and photos that capture our guests, daily activities, and the beauty of Oaxaca.

You’ll work together with our marketing manager (9+ years of experience), who will guide and support you with ideas, trends, and strategy — while giving you the freedom to express your own style. You’ll join events, explore the city, and turn real hostel life into fun and engaging content.

It’s the perfect opportunity to grow your portfolio, learn from an experienced marketing team, and be part of a warm, social, and creative community in the heart of Oaxaca.

Activities & Shift

Your main activities will include:
Filming short videos (Reels/TikToks) around the hostel and Oaxaca
Taking lifestyle photos of guests, spaces, activities, and city moments
Editing videos using your preferred tools (simple ones not technical)
Brainstorming new content ideas and trends with the marketing team
Joining hostel events (salsa night, tours, workshops) to capture authentic moments
Helping maintain a consistent visual style on our social platforms

Shifts:
5 days per week
4 hours per day (flexible depending on content needs and events)
Some days may include joining tours or activities to film content
Schedule is flexible — you can choose the hours when the light, energy, and activities are best for shooting

Important:
We prioritize quality over quantity. You’ll have freedom to plan your shooting days depending on creativity, weather, and events happening at the hostel.
