The experience
Our kindergarten and holiday program in Kampala supports young children from low-income families. Volunteers choose only the activities they feel confident with — from storytelling and creative play to literacy, arts, or group games. You’ll help create a safe, joyful, and educational environment while sharing culture and learning from Uganda’s traditions. 🌍💛
What you offer
7 hours of help per day
Child Care:
Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Teaching Sports:
Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.
Additional fee required
Amount:
US$ 10
Per day
Description:
Volunteers pay 10 dollars contribution for food expenses.
What you get
3 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Language lessons:
Take free language classes at our place.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Dedicated Workspace:
Specific space for you to work remotely
Requirements
Intermediate English or Intermediate English
Between 19 and 49 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers
What's not included
Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Program Details
There are five learning areas kids are taken through the volunteer will choose one or two of them only.
Our program offers volunteers the chance to support early childhood learning and a lively community holiday program. Volunteers select the areas they feel comfortable contributing to.
You may choose the kindergarten program (ages 3–6), the holiday program, or a combination of both.
Your help focuses on simple, child-friendly activities that encourage creativity, play, storytelling, cultural exchange, and basic learning.
You will never be responsible for everything — you pick just 1–3 areas that match your skills, confidence, or interests.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers can support either:
1.The Nursary program
2.The holiday program
3.or both depending on your skills and comfort.
NOTE: You will not handle all activities- you select what you can manage.
At the Nursary school ages 3-6
Possible areas to choose from:
@ Helping Teachers with classroom activities
@ supporting literacy or numeracy sessions.
@ Reading stories or leading rhymes.
@ Leading simple art, crafts or creative play.
@supporting outdoor activities and games.
@ Helping organising learning materials.
NB you choose 1-3 areas that suit your skills and confidence.
Community holiday program .

Cultural exchange
We love when volunteers share:
- Stories traditions, food or music from their country .

- games from their child hood
Schedule:
