The experience

Come stay with our Irish family of four for a true West Cork cultural experience
We are Barry and Tríona, and we have two fun-loving boys aged 5 and 7, plus our lovely lurcher dog, Peggy🐕💛

We live 7 km from the nearest town, Clonakilty, and close to some beautiful West Cork beaches🌊
Surfing classes are available nearby when conditions are good🏄‍♀️

The help we are looking for is a mix of house upkeep and childminding in a relaxed family

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Bikes at your disposal: You can use our bikes any time you want.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Surfboards: You can use our surfboards as much as you want.

Surf lessons: Take free surf classes at the local beaches.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Beginner English

Between 19 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

We also have bicycles and surfboards that you are welcome to borrow and use 🚲🏄

Activities & Shift

We usually ask for around 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Saturdays and Sundays are free for you to enjoy and do your own thing 🌿✨

Tasks include a mix of:

-House upkeep and light cleaning
-Childcare
-Playing, arts and crafts, and having fun with the boys 🎨⚽
