The experience

Center of Concern (CoC) is a non-profit organization working to reduce poverty, promote education, empower youth and women, and strengthen communities in southern Ethiopia. We welcome international and local volunteers who want to contribute their time, skills, and compassion to make a real difference.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Elderly Care: Assisting and spending time with the elderly.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 49 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: 20 USD/day (includes single room, three homemade meals, airport pick-up and drop-off, unlimited mobile internet, free Amharic lessons twice a week, and a certificate of participation).

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Intermediate English

Between 18 and 70 years old

Program Details

We are seeking a volunteer who is willing to provide basic health education, first aid support, and assist with community health awareness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in community health screenings and hygiene promotion.
• Support first aid and health education sessions.
• Help maintain basic health records and referrals under staff supervision.
Qualifications:
• Registered Nurse or health-related background.
• Interest in community or public health.
• Compassionate, adaptable, and culturally sensitive.
