The experience

Bring rhythm, energy, and creativity to the kids of Soweto! At (SYI), music is more than sound — it’s expression, healing, and joy. Whether you sing, play guitar, drums, or simply love music, you’ll help children discover their voices and confidence through sound and song.
What you’ll do:
Lead fun music and rhythm sessions with kids
Teach basic singing or instrument skills
Organize mini performances and creative workshops
Join weekend programs


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 18 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner English

Between 20 and 60 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Be from outside Kenya
