The experience

Be part of something new and exciting! at SYI, we’re beginning our first-ever urban garden, and we need passionate volunteers to help us bring it to life. Our goal is to create a small green space where children can learn about growing plants, recycling, and caring for the environment — even in an urban slum setting.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 18 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Certificate: Get a certificate of completion after you finish your experience.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details

help us set up our first garden: preparing the soil, planting seedlings, and creating simple recycled planters.

Support in eco-education for kids, teaching them about nature, cleanliness, and recycling through games and activities.

Take part in beautifying the SYI compound — painting pots, decorating garden corners, or creating a mini green zone.

Join other SYI weekend programs like art and crafts, library reading, and feeding sessions with the children.
