Tree planting & permaculture by the river in Portugal


The experience

New farm in Central Portugal by river needs help planting trees, growing crops and implementing permaculture project. The farm is located about 1 hour North of Lisbon, surrounded by beautiful scenery and on the world famous Camino de Santiago route. Looking for help with planting and caring for trees, clearing land of weeds and invasive vegetation, planting crops using organic methods, improving habitat for native species, preventing spread


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Tent: You will sleep in a tent at a camping site.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.


Requirements

Intermediate Portuguese or Intermediate English

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Program Details

I can provide living accommodation (house) off the farm in certain parts of the year. Alternatively can provide a tent to be used on the land itself. I can also provide teaching about permaculture, organic gardening and self-sufficiency.
