Primary School Teaching Assistant of English or Painting and Art


The experience

The Primary School Teaching Assistant will be posted at our partner primary school in Eastern Uganda and will support the local teachers to create a supportive learning environment through interesting and diverse methods that promote Learning and improve basic education among pupils in rural communities.

You will be required to support pupils with reading, writing, speaking English, drawing, shading, games among others.


What you offer

16 hours of help per week

Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.

Web Developer: Help develop and maintain websites.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 15 Per day

Fee pays for: Materials for volunteer activities and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers contribute 15$ to support meals, activities and organisation development.

Program Details

In a bid to support and improve basic education our community area, we are partnering with primary schools to promote learning among pupils in rural communities. The program seeks to work with individuals who are passionate at inspiring young minds and a committed to ensuring that every child achieves their potential. The primary school teaching Assistant will be posted in our Partner Primary schools in Butaleja district in Eastern Uganda.

As a primary school teaching Assistant, you'll support teachers to develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. You'll facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils, keeping your learning resources organized and creating a positive learning environment in the classroom. You will contribute to develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude.

You'll help teachers assess and record progress and prepare pupils for national tests and link pupils' knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further, challenging and inspiring pupils to help them deepen their knowledge and understanding.

The volunteers will work directly with our local organisation volunteer team to share experiences and progress of the program.
