The experience
Are you passionate about photography, video, and storytelling? We're looking for a creative and motivated Content Creator to help us capture the spirit of our hostel and the beauty of Cancun! If you love creating content, meeting new people, and sharing authentic moments, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
What you offer
20 hours of help per week
Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.
Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.
Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.
Additional fee required
Amount: US$ 50 One time
Description: A $50 refundable deposit is required, returned after completing all volunteer hours.
What you get
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Discounts on Tours: Get discounts for tours and excursions around town.
Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Beginner English or Beginner Spanish
Between 20 and 35 years old

Program Details
We’re looking for creative, motivated, and social volunteers with an eye for aesthetics and storytelling. You should be comfortable using your camera or smartphone to capture great content and have a basic understanding of social media platforms like Instagram.
We are not a party hostel — it’s a chill, social place where guests and volunteers can relax, connect, and enjoy the atmosphere. You can go out to party if you like, but inside the hostel we keep things peaceful and welcoming.
You’ll be part of a warm, international team and stay in a shared volunteer dorm just a 3-minute walk from the hostel. We offer free accommodation, breakfast, access to our kitchen and common areas, and an easygoing environment to learn, connect, and enjoy the Caribbean lifestyle.

-Taking high-quality photos and videos of the hostel, staff, and guests (with permission)
-Creating short videos or reels for social media
-Highlighting daily life, events, and the local area
-Organizing and delivering edited content ready for posting
-Bringing creative ideas to show the true spirit of the hostel
Your schedule will be flexible, and you’ll have two days off per week to relax, explore, or work on your own projects. Each week, you’ll receive content goals and ideas — from taking photos and videos to editing.
The goal is to capture and share the unique vibe of our hostel, the beauty of Cancún, and the amazing energy of our guests and volunteers.
You’ll be free to express your creativity while helping us show what life at The Boat House is all about — good vibes, community, and tropical adventures!
