The experience

Join our creative restaurant and art gallery in Vieques! We’re looking for an experienced cook or kitchen assistant to help prepare dishes, organize the kitchen, and support service. You’ll be part of a small, passionate team surrounded by nature and art. Breakfast and lunch included.

What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 10 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers

Description: $10/day contribution for meals and lodging.

Program Details

Cundeamor is a creative restaurant and art gallery surrounded by nature in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
We’re looking for a volunteer with real kitchen experience to join our team during the high season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys cooking, teamwork, and working in a lively, creative environment

Activities & Shift

Main tasks include:
• Helping prepare dishes for breakfast, brunch, or dinner.
• Assisting with plating and kitchen organization during service.
• Keeping the workspace clean and following basic food safety standards.
• Supporting the chef and team with daily prep and tasks.
• Occasionally helping with small creative or maintenance projects around the restaurant.

Rules

Volunteers stay in a shared house with other volunteers. Everyone is responsible for keeping shared areas clean, including the kitchen and bathroom. Respect and cooperation are essential.

This role takes place in a real restaurant kitchen, so punctuality and responsibility are key. Volunteers must be able to follow instructions and work independently once tasks are explained.

Expectations:
• Arrive on time and ready to work.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.
• Keep personal areas and utensils clean.
• Communicate openly with the team if you have questions or problems.
• Respect meal times and schedules.
• No smoking, drugs, or excessive drinking during or before shifts.
• Quiet hours start at 10:00 pm.
