Teach English in rural Thai orphanage - Help Change Lives!


The experience

Moo Baan Dek, a rural orphanage in the Thai jungle is seeking volunteers to help teach English. The school follows the Summerhill approach, an alternative educational philosophy that emphasizes self-directed learning, emotional well-being, and community responsibility. It serves orphaned and impoverished children, providing them with a safe, nurturing environment where they can learn at their own pace in a non-coercive setting.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 15 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Donation to project

Description: 1 month or less: $15 per day to cover expenses for food and accommodation ** 1 - 3 month commitment: $7.50 per day ** 3 months or more: Volunteers are not obligated to make a donation. ** As of 2025 - U.S. citizens may apply for a grant that will cover all expenses for a minimum 6 week commitment. Grant covers accommodation, meals, and insurance. Contact us to learn more.


What you get

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
