We’re building DAO Home — a creative eco-learning center in Chiang Dao focused on natural building and sustainable design. This position is for experienced mosaic or natural builders who want to help us design and build a mud-based bathhouse, sauna, or mosaic installations using natural materials.
You’ll be part of our growing community, sharing your skills with our team and volunteers while learning local techniques and working alongside builders and artists from around the world.
Activities & Shift
Work is flexible — around 2–3 hours per day, or you can batch work on some days and rest on others.
Projects may include:
Mosaic work on outdoor surfaces and decorative walls
Building or refining mud and clay structures (steam room, sauna, etc.)
Experimenting with natural materials and sustainable methods
Teaching or guiding other volunteers on basic techniques
You’ll collaborate with our Thai builder team, long-term volunteers, and staff members. All tools and materials are provided.
Rules
1️⃣ Respect the community & local culture
DAO Home is a peaceful eco-project in a quiet Thai village. Please honor the environment, neighbours, and our slow-living lifestyle. This is not a party hostel.
2️⃣ Keep shared spaces clean
Help maintain harmony by keeping kitchens, bathrooms, and common areas tidy. Shared spaces = shared care.
3️⃣ Communicate openly
We work as a community. Please share your daily plans, ask before using materials, and speak directly with the team if you have questions or feedback.
4️⃣ Safety first
Creativity is welcome — but always use tools, ladders, mud-building materials, and equipment responsibly. If unsure, always ask for guidance.
5️⃣ Respect boundaries & quiet hours
DAO Home follows a calm rhythm. Be mindful of noise at night and respect everyone’s privacy.
6️⃣ Smoking & alcohol
Smoking is okay, but do not smoke infront of kids and indoors. Outside alcohol is not allowed.
7️⃣ Honor system
We don’t have strict managers — we rely on trust.
If you borrow items, use shared supplies, or notice something broken, please let us know so we can maintain the space for everyone.
