Program Details

We have all the recipes for all the breakfasts, organized in a google sheet you'll have access to. In the sheet there are also quantities that need to be bought on a weekly and monthly basis, but it is your responsibility to keep track what we have left and what we need to buy - and make actual shopping lists each time.
New suggestion are always welcome, be it a new dish we can prepare or how to organize and optimize storage, or how to make work more efficient and easier.

Activities & Shift

Again, depending of the type of the breakfast you can make it in the morning before 9am or in the evening on the day before.
So, usually you can start with preparations at 8am, serving it from 9 till 10, then when done putting the plates to the dishwasher, tidying up the kitchen, writing down what goes to the weekly shopping list etc.
Once a week you go to "big" shopping for the next week. Sometimes if needed some things you can buy on the same day, before or after the shift. It's important to understand which things should be bought in a bigger store weekly or monthly as the prices vary a lot. Information about that is available in the google sheet we have.

In your free time you can meet so many people right here, as there's always many volunteers staying here, as well as guests of course, and the crowd is very diverse. There are alternative bars and places of culture we can send you to, so you'll be able to meet Belgrade from different perspectives.
Our common area is spacious and offers all you might need during the day or night, as we have two living rooms, so one is always more lively and the other more quiet.

In our hostel we have a room that volunteers can reserve to do yoga classes, tattooing, massages (we do have a table for massage) etc. This kind of activities can be also promoted on our reception for our guests.

Rules

No need to write much about things that are obvious, but let's mention it. Volunteers, as ones who are staying the longest, should always give a good example in terms of keeping the kitchen and the common area clean when they use it, this also helps those who are working at the moment.
