The experience
As an Elderly Care & Community Support Volunteer, your main role is to assist elderly individuals in their daily lives, offering both practical help and emotional companionship. You will support seniors through various activities that promote comfort, dignity, and inclusion within the community.
What you offer
16 hours of help per week
Cleaning:
Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
Housekeeping:
Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Child Care:
Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.
Cooking:
Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

Description:
The volunteer contributes $15 for expenses at our place such as electricity and water bills
What you get
3 days off per week
Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Breakfast:
You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch:
You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.
Dinner:
You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Free Tours:
We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!
Free Hiking Tours:
We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Basic Internet Access:
Basic speed internet for you to work remotely
Dedicated Workspace:
Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details
This program is designed to support and care for elderly individuals by promoting dignity, companionship, and inclusion within the community. Volunteers will engage directly with seniors, offering both emotional and practical assistance to improve their daily well-being and quality of life.
Activities & Shift
Assisting elderly residents with daily tasks such as meal preparation, light cleaning, or organizing personal spaces.
• Providing companionship through conversations, walks, games, and storytelling.
• Helping organize recreational or educational activities to encourage mental and physical well-being.
• Supporting mobility or exercise routines (when trained or supervised).
• Listening and offering emotional support to make them feel valued and connected.
• Collaborating with staff or other volunteers to maintain a warm, respectful environment.
Rules
1. Respect the Elderly:
Always speak politely and treat every elderly person with love, patience, and understanding.
2. Be Punctual:
Arrive on time for all scheduled activities and inform your coordinator if you are running late or cannot attend.
3. Maintain Cleanliness:
Keep yourself and the working environment clean and tidy at all times.
4. Confidentiality:
Keep personal stories or information about the elderly private. Respect their dignity and privacy.
5. Follow Instructions:
Listen carefully to your supervisor or coordinator and follow the program’s guidance.
6. No Alcohol or Drugs:
The use of alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs during volunteering is strictly prohibited.
